Commercial Description:
Climb on in and grab a paddle. Our first foray into lagered beers, Blue Paddle Pilsener-Lager, is a Czech style pilsener with a refreshing crispness from noble hops and a rich, malty finish. ‘Blue Paddle’ refers to the implement our warehouse manager’s Grandma once used to lovingly paddle his a** when she caught him stealing sips of her beer. With more body than a traditional Belgian pils, Blue Paddle is reflective of Europe’s finest pilseners.

Pours a very pale yellow with dense head. Mild carbonation. Aroma is of straw. Flavor is sour (not bitter but sour). Not a quality I appreciate in a beer. Body is light. I just can’t get over that sourness!

This is not my favorite style, but his beer seems to be a good version of the pilsener lager. Tastes like a fuller Bud sans the nasty grain (rice, corn) alcohol taste.

33cL bottle. Pours out a hazy straw colour with a smallish white head. A nice crisp flavor with a slightly bitter hops finish.

Bottle. [Courtesy of Papsoe, yet another great tasting @ Henrik´s] Small fizzy white head that mostly diminished. Clear flat looking body with a yellow color. Spare lacework. Aroma of fruit, caramel, grain. Light bodied with an average carbonation. Light sweet and bitter flavor. Light dry and bitter finish. 18-09-2007

33 cL bottle. Pours slight hazy yellow with a lacing white head. Slight fruity hops nose. Fruity flavour, very mild and refreshing. Slight bitterness in the finish but mainly with a persisting light fruit note. Nice.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Slightly hazy golden with a small, white head. Clean and malty nose. Medium body, clean, malty accents and a fairly bitter finish. Straight. 180907

355 ml bottle. Pours a clear golden yellow with a white head. Rather sweet nose with floral notes. Medium somewhat dry body with a touch of tartness and a lasting finish. Nice lacing.

Pours a crystal clear gold. Head goes about one finger and falls fairly quickly and leaves a lot of lacing on the way. As far as appearances go, it’d be a good beer to shoot pictures of. Mouthfeel is thick and frothy when you first down it and as you keep going it lingers for a bit and leaves a lasting impact on the palate. Overall I’d say this is a decent brew, but not powerfully done.
