Light golden appearance, decent creamy white head, good lacing. Bit of a fresh lake water aroma. Flavor has some honwy sweetness to it with a trace of butter. Not half bad for a pilsnener, went well with the sandwich I had. Mouthfeel is thick enough and stays strong to the finish. krisbierjaeger (844), dolores, Colorado, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 14, 2004 a blinding blonde color, like a scandanavian beach babe bathed in the baltic sunlight of solsitice. it’s as clear as a story book moral, the head was soft and alabaster white. enjoyed in a snifter glass, the aroma couldn’t help but convect upward bearing fairly vivid discriptions of corn-yellow grains and hot sun on summer grass-- and not much else; something lightly fragrant in a sweet way like a wedge of pear. again, clarity and simplicity were what they were shooting for. it’s a quencher, with grainy malts and jazzy carbonation. some dry hop leaf bitterness catches up, mingling with the mild lemony sweetness, acting like they’re old chums-- and maybe they really are-- ’cause those two leave together. i don’t know what the ’blue’ in the name is about, but, as far as the other part: it certainly doesn’t whomp ya like a paddle. rather, it nuzzles you like a poodle. so i’ll call it blue poodle pils. kujo9 (1078), North Ridgeville, Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 12/20 | Nov 4, 2004 Lightly hazy deep gold, short lived white head. Grainy malt & moderate floral hop; very clean, a bit of sulphury yeast. Well balanced just to bitter, drier finish also bitter; very subtle earthy hop flavor & again w/ the sulphury yeast. Bready malt , very clean & crisp. Higher carbonation, prickly m/f and dry, lighter bodied & snappy, but not watery. Very well made Pilsner style from a company mostly know for Belgian style ales. jigglyjock (159), Seattle, Washington, USA

I drank this beer too fast. Lots of nice pils malt flavor. Well crafted and enjoyable. bb (2930), Martinez, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Oct 11, 2004 Bottle. Very clear golden beer with a thin white head. Grass and spice aroma. Light malt backing, spicey hops, just a bit of fruitiness. Clean crisp and dry. Sounds like your normal pilsner, but just a tad darker, and just missing something the great pilsners have. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Oct 5, 2004 Bottle Pours a crystal clear very light amber with a momentary white fizzy head leaving sparce lacing. Aroma is of light grains, not much hops and biased to the malts a bit. Flavor is a bitter, almost sour flavor at first, but after a moment the mellow, bread and yeast comes through. Still pretty easy on the hops. Feel is thin, dare I say, watery..and quite lively carbonation. Aftertaste is a pleasant and soft wheat bread flavor. Not bad..but forgetable.
