Commercial Description:
Climb on in and grab a paddle. Our first foray into lagered beers, Blue Paddle Pilsener-Lager, is a Czech style pilsener with a refreshing crispness from noble hops and a rich, malty finish. ‘Blue Paddle’ refers to the implement our warehouse manager’s Grandma once used to lovingly paddle his a** when she caught him stealing sips of her beer. With more body than a traditional Belgian pils, Blue Paddle is reflective of Europe’s finest pilseners.

I wasn’t crazy about this beer. It’s described as Czech in style but it really lacks in the hop department there is also a lack of crispness which was disapointing. NB should probably stick to the belgian influenced Ales because this was little better than an allmalt version of an American Light Lager.

bottle thanks to boomer0813. poured light gold with a nice white head. aroma of citrus, hops, fruity notes, and yard weeds. flavor was citrus, bitter, and grass. light body with high carbonation. not to bad for a pils.

Pours clear pale golden, with a fluffy, two-finger, white head, nice, lasting lacing. Smells of apple, citrus, bread, caramel, and grass. Thin, crisp body. The malt flavor is light and straight-forward, with characteristics much like the smell, mostly apple and bread, some nice earthy hay and citrus notes pick up in the mildly-bitter aftertaste.

Bottle. Small ivory head, clear light golden. Nose is somewhat spicy hop. A bit bitter, with a little bread in the malt, refreshing hop finish. An above average if not great pilsner.

One of the better pilsners I’ve had-refreshing and light. A little malt, hops. Works well with very flavorful food.

Crushed with Jakebra and Honkeybra at the brewery. Not bad. Malt and some chemical on the nose. Flavor is pretty smooth. Nothing to write home about, but it’s one of the better pilseners I’ve tried.

courtesy of vasdef42. Pours clear golden with thick frothy white head. Aroma is hoppy and notes of malts, very simple and somewhat disappointing. Taste, malty, grainy, light hops. Finish is crisp and light with some bitterness and light hints of citrus. Overall, not a bad pilsener, did not have the nasty metallic mouthfeel that plagues so many pilsener.
