| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 23, 2004 Notes are hazy, from Dr. Bill’s post GABF party at Falling Rock 10/2/04... Poured a deep golden color with a medium sized off white head. If I could understand my notes, i’d be better off. I can understand "a very average saison". Seems to be about what everyone else has said about this beer. jazz88 (2239), San Francisco, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 6, 2005 Tap @ Toronado. Golden color with a diminished white head. I picked up vanilla and toffee flavors. Neither a powerful aroma nor flavor but a good drinkin’ beer. Clean and smooth. bb (2930), Martinez, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 26, 2004 Draft. Golden-amber color with a little white head. Malty aroma. Flavor is very fruity, malty, and even more fruity. Finish is dryer than I’d have imagined. Murphy (1759), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 16, 2004 Golden color, not much head. Malty, sweet aroma. Taste is just as the discription- pure pale malt. Becomes somewhat grainy, if you can handle that. Alcohol is well masked, mainly because this is overly sweet. Interesting I guess, maybe a little too one diminsional. gabbledbabble (60), Loveland, Colorado, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 11, 2004 This comes out the color of yellow pine, a few years worn. Light.
Little head, no lace.
Smells of barleycorn, and light barley malt. It strikes me as a little musty, like a new camembert.
Barley chew, yeah. A hop flower then the alcohol cuts over everything. Whoa, it’s sweet. It’s like beer hard candy. Umm. There’s some decent hop dryness to this that comes about after a few sips. That chewy barley strikes some nuttiness, pine nuts, raw virginia peanuts. The alcohol provides quite a bite. My wife loved this. I liked it. I could sip this for a good long while with friends.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 16, 2005 Tasted at the StrongAlefest. Dark, very matly in the aroma. Somewhat festive in the flavor. A little citrus, spicy, sweet and a little dark fruit quality. Finish is clean and fairly smooth. An interesting beer I’m glad they brought it down, at least for something diffferent.
