DrBayern (879), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA Apr 30, 2008 12 oz. bottle on 2/30/08. Clear coppery amber with a medium off white head that proves to be quite durable, and some decent lace. Malty aroma of light caramel and roasted nuts, with some very faint spicy hops. Medium body and well carbonated, perhaps a little overly so, but smooth and without any stickiness. Well balanced between a light maltiness and soft bitterness at the finish. Not at all my favorite style, but this is quite drinkable, balanced, and sessionable.
johnnysmoke (30), Texas, USA Jul 4, 2008 A dark golden clear color with a white frothy head. The aroma is a touch hoppy and reminiscent of an american wheat. The flavor is a bit bitter and slightly nutty. Some citrus and malts.
djones (49), USA Jul 4, 2008 Brown amber coloration. Malt, caramel, and a hint of citrus in the flavor. Light, smooth, and drinkable. Felt a little watery though and the flavors were far from dazzling. Goes good with classic american fare. johntreeter (53), Greenwood, Indiana, USA Jun 30, 2008 12 oz bottle at Table Rock. I may have gotten a bad 6er. Smell and taste of an old musty basement with water problems. It poured a beautiful golden amber with a big 3 finger head then Ismelled and tasted it and poured it down the drain. I use to drink this brew in AZ a few years back and don’t remember it being this bad, so next time I’m west of the big river I’ll buy a single and re-rate. Copper pour with froth that drops out quickly. Really session-able and great at the price point. If you compare it to a Yeungling/Harpoon/Shipyard Export or other flagship beers out here on the East Coast this beer comes way ahead of the pack. I had a friend who lugged a 6 pack to the South Pacific as part of her Peace Corps travel weight allowance. Dedication. sirpsycho (149), Murrysville, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 29, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear amber/orange, off-white head that doesn’t last, yet leaves lacing. Aroma is malt and bread. Flavor is a "soft" malt, a touch of caramel. Easy to drink, non-offending, in my opinion a good session beer.
