Commercial Description:
Frambozen begins with the aroma of fresh red raspberries, followed by the ripe seductiveness of a fruity brown ale with depth and delicate malt notes. It is deep ruby in color, with flavors just as rich. Every year, New Belgium sends a delegate to the Pacific Northwest to oversee the process of turning freshly picked berries into a pure juice to be added in fermentation. The coming of Thanksgiving at New Belgium is ushered in with the first sighting of our cellar operators scuttling about, covered head to tow in a festive crimson berry wash.

A nice flavored beer, unlike many, there’s only subtleness to the raspberry, the brown ale dominates, but plenty of nice raspberry aftertaste. Alcohol not noticable at all, I really enjoyed this brew. Thanks to Duane for the bottle!

Bottle: Pours a red/pink color with an off white head. Aroma, raspberries, and some sweet malty notes. Flavor, Raspberries, some sweetness, there is a slight tartness to it. No real sourness, to speak of, but a decent beer.

Bottle: Courtesy of Styles. The aroma has sweet notes of raspberry with light tartness. Pours a transparent reddish-orange with a small off-white head. The flavor starts with a slightly week sweet raspberry flavor. The finish is combination of light chocolate, light sour raspberry, and just a touch nuttiness.

12 oz bottle purchased at Papago in Scottsdale, AZ. Poured a lovely clear garnet color. Head was off white with good retention and lacing. Attractive aroma of chocolate raspberry truffle. Chocolate predominates. Flavor is the same. Delicately sweet on the tongue with a hint of coffee at the end.

Bottled. One of the only fruity beers I’ve had that doesn’t taste artificial. Good beer, worth a try.

Smells of raspberries bur very wheaty and yeasty also. Don’t really like the aroma. Looks great though, and wow the taste is nice. Has some good raspberry flavors and is creamy. Good fruit beer.
