Jan 6, 2007 Draught from the brewery poured into sampler globe glass - Pours dark amber with an off white head that leaves nice lacing; Fresh raspberries and raspberry syrup to the nose; A slightly tart raspberry and woody initial taste; Some malt and wood backtaste; Creamy medium palate; Nice carbonation; Pretty good. I actually enjoyed this one as opposed to several fruit beers I’ve tried. This one doesn’t try so hard to throw the fruit at you in the taste. It’s just a little more subtle.

Jan 5, 2007 This seasonal brew is very good for this type of beer. For those that like a fruit taste in thier beer this is a must try. The raspberry taste is excellant and goes down well in the winter.

Jan 4, 2007 Updated: Nov 26, 200811/28/08 rerate again. Very sour/puckerish. Nice raspberry nose but the flavor of the raspberry is in the background. Still very nice beer..I love this beer-but not as much as last year. Bought two cases in Austin when NB said it would never hit Texas. Continued to see it at Central Market throughout Xmas. One case would have sufficed. Seems a little more alcoholic than in years past-not quite the session beer I remember. I enjoy the raspberry/brown ale mix though.

Jan 4, 2007 Bottle. Well this one was not really my favorite. I just think a brown ale style with fruit does not work very well. The raspberry aroams clashed with the malts. There wer no yeasty notes present, it just seemed off.

Jan 3, 2007 One of the few beers I will drink with anything. It is perfect to accompany the holiday treats, but is also great for sipping.

Dec 28, 2006 Bottle courtesy of BeerandBlues2. I was so psyched to try this, as I love New Belgium, and I love fruit beers. What a dissapointment in both! The pour is a dark wine red with a full off-white head. Raspberry aroma with some sort of grassy off scents behind it. The palate is thin and flat--and really ruins the brew. The taste is bad--watered down raspberry extract flavor and a slight bitterness. Tastes fake and confused.

Dec 23, 2006 12oz bottle. Poured a deeper reddish borwn with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of raspberries and interestingly I was getting some pine and cinnamon. Tastes of lighter raspberries and lighlty nutty. Lacing left on the glass.
