Commercial Description:
Frambozen begins with the aroma of fresh red raspberries, followed by the ripe seductiveness of a fruity brown ale with depth and delicate malt notes. It is deep ruby in color, with flavors just as rich. Every year, New Belgium sends a delegate to the Pacific Northwest to oversee the process of turning freshly picked berries into a pure juice to be added in fermentation. The coming of Thanksgiving at New Belgium is ushered in with the first sighting of our cellar operators scuttling about, covered head to tow in a festive crimson berry wash.

Dark crimson red with a small white head. Aroma is fresh rasbperry and candy. Also some chocolate. Flavour is syrupy raspberry chocolate. Not enough sour to balnce this one as its more like a port.

Bottle. Nice dark garnet body with a thin foamy head. Nose is very toasty and peanut like. The first tastes I notice are burnt malts, dried fruits and berries, light sweetness, some bitter, and chocolate. I tried really hard to find something good to say about this, but I couldn’t find anything. Overall just a very burnt taste with some raspberry thrown in. Now, on to the drain...

An interesting concoction here. Pardon my spelling. A very earthy nutty raspberry aroma. A reddish to almost purple appearance. The flavor is dominated by raspberries and it was hard to really taste anything else. Not a great beer but not bad one either. Might go good with chocolate cake or something.

What the hell did I write down? Red wings??? OH well, this was nice, but nothing too special -- pretty ruby color, light taste/aroma of raspberries. Thanks, Regal!

Grapevine Market - Austin, Tx - 12 oz bottle. Pours a dark red to purple with a frothy off white head with a good coat of lacing. Aroma is sweet and raspberry like at first but turns slightly cloying and toe-jam like near the end. Flavor has some chocolate notes with some bold raspberry tints as well. Faint wisps of alcohol comes through as well. All in all, the flavor is much better than the aroma. Mouthfeel is slightly thick and somewhat chewy. Overall decent.

Pours a very dark "wine red". Small off white head. Aroma is of raspberries. Flavor is roasted sweet malt, with a raspberry acidic "twang" to it. Interesting brew, thanks to JPDipso for this one!

bottle. bark brownish red with a fluffed pink tinted white head. warm rubber cherry aroma. malt backbone is evident in this. the bite of the raspberries are very noticeable. finish is unpleasant however, leaves a raw burnt grain taste. not enough raspberry flavor in this.
