| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 31, 2004 Bottle Pours a clear dark Mahogany with a modest light brown head. Nice lacing as well. Aroma is the typical brown ale dark malts light hops and there is the Raspberry as well. Not too strong and compliments nicely. Flavor has more of the Ras than I expected. Not too sweet goes very well with the other dark malty flavors. Quite nice. Feel is very smooth and heavy. Quite soft carbonation and a woody/Ras trailer. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 30, 2004 Redish color, white head goes away quickly. The aroma is pretty subtle. Some maltiness and maybe some raspberry, I expected the smell to be more pronounced. (It is not as subtle now that the beer has warmed a bit. In fact the raspberry comes through a lot more now that it is at 48 degrees.) The flavor is balanced between malty and hoppy, though those flavors transform into a nice, easy raspberry flavor. The raspberry taste stays with you . My bottle indicates the Alc% as 6.5%, but you would never guess it. It also says you should taste it at 50 degrees, they are right, it is a much better beer that way. This would be great with a chocolate dessert. Sickboy282 (1100), San Diego, California, USA

Flavors of raspberries with a alight hop profile and not much else. Vac (2394), San Diego, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 28, 2004 This brew pours with an amber brown body topped by a thin head with little lacing. The aroma is sweet and full of raspberry with a slight maltiness. The flavor is slightly sweet and malty with a touch of raspberry and a little nuttiness. Meidum bodied and smooth. ontario102 (794), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 23, 2004 pours with a diminishing, crimson-hued head; wine, red raspberry, and yeast in the fairly weak nose; pretty subtle berry flavor over a sweet, wal-nutty malt base; somewhat sour and tart; alcohol is barely percepable; lacks depth and complexity, but it’s damn good for a fruit beer. arhythmt (69), USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 28, 2004 In terms of beers that include fruit in the mix, I would place this beer ahead of many others I have tried. The raspberry essence works well with this brown ale (it even has a tinge of the purple/red raspberry shade to it).
