Taste begins with chocolate, nuts, and caramel malt and finishes tart raspberry. Very interesting, this is a very enjoyable fruit beer. Thanks TAR! stefanberggren (135), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 29, 2003 I am not one to jump at fruit beers, but I had to try this beer. Poured with an almost brownish/purplish head??? optical illusion? Aroma of raspberries jumped down my nasal passages ! Flavor was light and pleasing with notes of chocolate malt and raspberries finishing into a light (but hoppier than expected) ending. Nice, but seems like the mouthfeel could be just a little more. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 25, 2003 The Frambozen poured a dark ruby red with a big pinkish-tan, creamy head that lasted for the entire time and laced the glass on the way down. It had a tart, fruity nose. The taste followed suit - a big tart raspberry initial taste that mellowed as the beer warmed, with a smooth malt finish. This is one of my favorite holiday beers. The fruitiness is not overwhelming, and it's very drinkable. I have noticed that the taste can vary from batch to batch as well as draft vs bottles - some are fruitier and tarter than others. mkobes (2104), paramus, New Jersey, USA

Fruity aroma with the smell of fermented rasberries, and a touch of sourness. Full palate with hints of chocolate and rasberry mixed to gether with a pleasant sourness. Very good and drinkable. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 16, 2003 Small beige-pink head atop a deep ruby-brown body. Aroma is medium sweet, definitely raspberry, some butter. Taste reflects the beer's origins -- there's both the sour/sweet raspberry, and nuttiness. Watery medium body, with medium acidity, that hides the alcohol remarkably well. god (18), Tucson, Arizona, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 14, 2003 THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BURGUNDY COLOR EVER. That color hints at the raspberry flavor that is about to beat you over the head. The first smell is very vanilla and is very inviting. If you don't like fruit flavored beers then stay far away from this one. Really far because it will use Jedi mind tricks to impose its raspberry will on you, that's how prominent the raspberry flavor is. Starts with a citrus bite with a nice raspberry juicy finish. Medium/full body, decent head. All told it is a very nice beer and even the strong raspberry flavor seems balanced. I've never had a better raspberry flavored beer. Take it home for my son's birthday on Dec. 25. A perfect after-dinner seasonal beer. BBB63 (4274), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 13, 2003 Reddish brown hue with small fizzy head and good lace. The aroma hinted of dusty yeast, raspberry, buttered toast, light spice and aromatic hops. The taste starts sour raspberry then gives way to the malty and nutty character. Minor caramel and spicy tones which appear quickly upon the finish. Well balanced between the fruit beer and the brown ale styles. Overall, a pleasurable drink and a nice change of pace from a straight up fruit lambic. Thanks Acrodizer for the brews.
