Commercial Description:
Frambozen begins with the aroma of fresh red raspberries, followed by the ripe seductiveness of a fruity brown ale with depth and delicate malt notes. It is deep ruby in color, with flavors just as rich. Every year, New Belgium sends a delegate to the Pacific Northwest to oversee the process of turning freshly picked berries into a pure juice to be added in fermentation. The coming of Thanksgiving at New Belgium is ushered in with the first sighting of our cellar operators scuttling about, covered head to tow in a festive crimson berry wash.

Pours a brownish read with a nice light brown head. Aroma of chocolate, raspberry, malt. Flavor is raspberry, roast, malt. Finishes with an odd nutty taste tinged with a bit of artificial raspberry. Worth trying, but not something I’d seek out on a regular basis.

Reddish brown pour with a thin and short lasting head. It’s been a few years since I had this one, but I remember being surprised that for being both a fruit beer and a New Belgium it was surprisingly tasty. Actually did a power hour with this beer once and was able to complete it, which is pretty damn impressive if I do say so myself. Ah, to be young again...

I enjoyed it this past winter. I thought it was an alright beer, and I was impressed with the nice flavor of the raspberries. I might pick another pack up this winter if I see it.

On tap at brewery. Brown with white head. Smells of malt and rasberry and tastes the same. Preaty decent for a brown ale with rasberry added.

My top rated New Belgium. It is essentially a maltier and cheaper version of Lindemans. Shame it is only out in winter.

Pours like a cherry cola. Bottom of the glass is a clear light red and as it moves up it turns to a light brown. Strong raspberry aroma with some acidity and metalic notes. Not much else. The flavor is a sour sweet (not the other way around) but they don’t compliment eachother. Theres this artifical raspberry flavor that rolls around the back of my tongue that I just don’t like. The palate is thin and not very fun at all.

Bottle. Strong but not deep raspberry aroma. Dark red-amber with a steady thinnish head. Somewhat harsh with an unbalanced sweetness. Mildly dry and alcoholic in the finish.
