Commercial Description:
Ale brewed with Lemon Peel and infused with Espresso
Giddy Up is a delicious juxtaposition of coffee, sustainably grown in Brazil and espresso-roasted locally, pressed into an ale with the deep color of a copper cowboy kettle. First whiff is full of sweeet caramel, toffee, latte. Then, a hint of lemon scone flavor from the addition of lemon peel. Body is creamy, resonant of espresso, yet the finish is bright, even a bit frisky. An ale to git along with...

Bottle from trade with valpodogs. Pours a copper/ amber with an off-white head. Nose is coffee, some earth, and a barely noticeable citrus peel. Coffee dominates the flavor with balancing malt, and citrus in the background. Flavor meshes well overall, and leads to an interesting beer.

Bottle, courtesy markwise. Clear reddish pour, some thick lacing and head. Coffee nose, some spices, cinnamon and very dry chocolate. Smooth coffee flavors, with sweet fruit spices. Smooth and drinkable, quite unique and balanced. Kinda cool.

12 oz bottle, best by April 3 2009. Pours a clear reddish amber with a creamy off white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is cold coffee and a little toffee and nuts.

The flavor is coffee and roast with some nuts and fruit leading to a slightly bitter finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with some sharp carbonation.

Overall, it’s pretty one dimensional with the coffee notes, but I enjoy it. It’s interesting having a lighter coffee beer with some fruit notes.

Courtesy of markwise. Pours clear copper with gold edges and thin off white head. The aroma is roasted malts, coffee, burnt malts and other mildly vague malty notes. The taste is sweet with caramel and sugar sweetness to go along with smooth coffee notes. Coffee takes over by midway and provides mild dryness to cut the early onslaught of sweetness. It tastes like a dark stout-ish beer but doesn’t really look like one.

On tap at City Beer in SF. Medium amber-brown color with a small off-white head. Aroma is coffee and sweet malt. Coffee flavor really stands out by itself, with caramel malt playing a side role. Decent but balance is not really there. Medium palate.
