Commercial Description:
Ale brewed with Lemon Peel and infused with Espresso
Giddy Up is a delicious juxtaposition of coffee, sustainably grown in Brazil and espresso-roasted locally, pressed into an ale with the deep color of a copper cowboy kettle. First whiff is full of sweeet caramel, toffee, latte. Then, a hint of lemon scone flavor from the addition of lemon peel. Body is creamy, resonant of espresso, yet the finish is bright, even a bit frisky. An ale to git along with...

Tap at Pap. Now this is a conceit. The name and tap handle illustration remind one of cowboys, and the flavors here do the same. This tastes by turns of black pepper, smoke, coffee, dark chocolate and, wait for it, jalapenos. Its one hell of a mix in time for Christmas. Phoenix reference - Cowboy Ciao should keep this on tap. An achievement.

On-tap at PP C Bad. Pours clear, dark amber with a moderate sized off-white head and good lace. Smells sweet and roasted malty with some coffee. Tastes of potent, unsweetened black coffee and coffee grounds with some slow building sweet, mellow malts and a sligh, crisp citrus component. Medium body, crisp carbonation.

Draft @ the Ginger Man in Houston. Pours a clear copper with a white fizzy head, a little lacing. Nose is faint, coffee, fruit and toasted malt. Coffee comes on strong in the flavor followed by lemon, caramel, cherries undergirded by a toasted malt backbone. Medium mouthfeel with a dry astringency from the coffee. A nice coffee brew in a different vein.

On tap at the Trainwreck Saloon in the St. Louis area. Starts light then the espresso takes over right before it finishes with a refreshing zest. Overall a good

Bottle. Poured dark and clear. Aroma of lemon, coffee, chocolate, malt. Almost like a tea, because of the lemon. Taste is similar with some spice. Overall, an interesting - maybe strange - brew. It gets points for being unique. Not something I would drink often. Mouth is a little thin.

Draught at New Belgium Brewery. Clear dark brown - white head. Coffee, espresso, chocolate, caramel, nutty, citric. A bit simple but lovely.
