The aroma is sweet malt with caramel and coffee. Good sticky lacing on the glass. The taste is simmilar to the nose with a nice roasted malt. A very good spice brew from New Belgium. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 20, 2008 Tap at Flying Saucer. Pours an average tea brown with a quickly fading head and sparse lacing. Aroma gives hints of what’s to come- sugar, coffe, and sweet vegetable- but lacks the aromatic fortitude necessary to truly entice the drinker. Flavor is coffee sweetened with vanilla and hazlenut, finishing with sugar-coated vegetables. Nice mouthfeel; the beer leaves a lingering bitterness on the tongue. Giddy Up reminds me of an earthy Sam Adams Longshot 1996 Hazlenut Porter. This dude will drink more of this tasty brew. rustychiles (1058), Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 19, 2008 Pours a translucent brown with a small tan head. Aroma is coffee, caramel and lemon peel. Flavor is primarily watered down espresso, with some sweetness and a little citrus adding sweetness and a lingering bitterness in the finish. Interesting brew, quite refreshing for a coffee beer. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 15, 2008 Updated: Jun 17, 2009Draft at the Freakin’ Frog completing a trade. Wow, was this nice. Huge coffee and citrus in the aroma. Honestly did not notice the creamy mouthfeel from the description. Seemed to be a really easy drinking coffee enhanced beer. Update in bottle. Prefer the draught because the coffee in the bottle seemed overly bitter and a little flat in the palate. Still good. badlizard (2370), Berkeley, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 1, 2008 On tap at Pizza Port. Hazy light brown with a fluffy head. An odd combinations of tastes, but not bad. Caramel, butter, and citrus tastes; I didn’t notice the coffee so much. SuzyGreenberg (1408), Seattle, Washington, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 27, 2008 Sample draft at the Flying Saucer in Kansas City, Missouri. Pour is clearish orange golden (look for notes from others) without much head. Aroma of coffee peel and lemon citrus. Taste is the nose, pronounced coffee and lemon sharp citrus. Only a hint of tart sourness. Palate was medium, mouth coating, with the espresso coffee taste lingering. Interesting, but not all that enjoyable. HonkeyBra (1355), Lemont, Illinois, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 25, 2008 Kind of a dark amber. Smells like coffee. Tastes like coffee. Has no real character other than coffee. The nose is nice, but if i wanted coffee I would have gotten some.
