crowderm (275), Recklinghausen, Germany Nov 6, 2009 Also at Firkin Fest at the Happy Gnome. I wasn’t too impressed with this one. Decent roasted malt, nuts, and mild fruitiness. Glad I got to try this, but not my favorite. IlanMan (816), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA Apr 2, 2009 On Cask for Firkin Fest at the Happy Gnome in St. Paul 09. Great balance between lightly roasted malts and sweet malt character. Just a touch of hops blended well with the light roast flavor making this a well blended brew. I’m happy to have tried this. BDR (2139), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Apr 2, 2009 Straight from the firkin at the Happy Gnome’s Second annual Firkin Fest. This beer was incredible - one of the best brown ale’s I’ve ever had. A nutty flavor flavor and aroma with a smooth body that felt thicker on my tongue than it actually was. Not too hoppy like other brown ale’s I’ve had locally, more of a session beer for a malt fan. This definitely explains why I love La Folie so much.
