harlequinn (2746), Tacoma, Washington, USA Sep 21, 2003 This was my first flemish sour ale and it will also be my last. Talk about getting slapped in the face with the sour aroma. This is the worst thing I have ever tried in my life. I may be stepping on pins and needles here, or toes as it were. Not something I could really enjoy.
Nephilium (448), Ohio, USA Nov 29, 2008 Wonderful green apple and sour cherry aroma starts this beer off. It pours a bright red, with a dusting of off-white head. Very tart flavor, green apple, sour cherries, and a touch of funk. If you like sour beers... this is one to try. ajm (458), Los Angeles, California, USA Nov 29, 2008 Tap at the Hop Leaf. Stunning dark color. Aroma of yeast, oak, citrus. Additional flavors that come through are moss and faint hints of vanilla. Reminiscent of Rodenbach Grand Cru. yespr (7777), Copenhagen O, Denmark Nov 28, 2008 75 cL bottle, courtesy of KimJohansen. Pours hazy deep brown with a diminished white head. Dense acetone yet smooth milky aroma. Dry acetone and dark malty flavoured with a light acidic touch. Dry and acidic finish. chicagodri (634), Chicago, Illinois, USA Nov 27, 2008 FoBAB 08. Pours a hazy brown/red. Aroma of funk and sour cherries. Flavor had the sour cherries, a touch of wine, oak, yeast, and some tart flavors. Great sour. 17thfloor (805), Chicago, Illinois, USA Nov 20, 2008 [On tap at Hopleaf] This is a great beer! Dark ruby red with a creamy tan thick head. Aroma of tart and sweet cherries, dusty yeast and barrel. Near perfect flavor, tart and sour without being undrinkable, right on the edge, fantastic balance of barrel, cherries, and acid. The finish is really nice and nonabrasive. Medium body with fine carbonation. Fantastic!
