Drnk_McDermott (1545), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA Sep 18, 2006 Bottle. Very "bright" and yet very sour. A pale brown color with a light thin head. Not much to talk about besides the sourness which reminds me of Bing cherries, Granny Smith apples and Jolly ranchers. Some horsiness to go with it. Yet I coould see sitting up with a good book and drinking this all night long.
Tmoney99 (3544), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Sep 5, 2008 Bottle 2008 from Beertopia. Poured cloudy reddish brown with a medium to large fizzy off-white head htat lasted with good lacing. Heavy complex tart fruit woody aroma. Medium body. Medium sour fruit flavor with medium sour finish of medium to long duration. This is a standout beer. PilsnerPeter (1414), Flushing, New York, USA Sep 5, 2008 Bottle: (Thanks BlackForestCO!) Pours a cloudy burgundy with a khaki head. The aroma is earthy and very acetic. Strong vinegar, very mild cocoa notes, raspberry tartness, oak and some bretty funk of leather. Silky body feel, with a very strong acetic character in the flavor- assertive and sharp with sour cherry skin and plenty of funk. Has notes of leather and lemony acidity, and soft oak. when it warms just a touch of dark malt peek through giving it just the slightest nuance of cocoa. A nice sour! oakbluff (206), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Sep 2, 2008 2008 vintage- pours a muddy deep rust colour with a vigorous initial head with excellent lacing. Nose- sweet cherries, wood, green apples and tart citrus. Taste- extremely tart and mouth puckering. Cherry taste doesn’t overpower- well blended earthy malts, horseblanket, minerals, lemon rinds. Finish is very woody and dry. Drinkability is very good with medium to high carbonation. LooseCannon (660), Norfolk, Virginia, USA Aug 31, 2008 750ml bottle, bottled 07-3170.
