Pours a golden yellow. Nose is funky, citrus, floral hops. Taste is sour, lots of nice brett funk, oaky earthiness, lemon, apples, herbs and spices, yeast, and more funk.

Sample at GABF, then on tap at Falling rock. Woah. This is a stunner right here. Golden, hazy pour. Nose is very sour, funky, some hops too. Flavor is very sour, with some bitter notes. The sour, funky flavor in this is awesome. This was a standout at GABF. Bottle this and I would buy cases.

9/28/09 notes: poured at GABF, sampled twice. Pours gold in color, a murky mysterious beer with no head. Rich barnyardy nose with dried lemon peel and earthiness. Flavor has a fascinating blend of citrus and vinegar acidity, rounded with brett and distinct musty earthiness. This whole series by New Belgium (Love, Terroir, Tart Lychee) is absolutely delicious. I think this is the “funkiest” of those three.

On tap at Beachwood. Color was a dark gold. Aroma was sour, fruity, with some yeast and flowers. Flavor was very sour, more so than many of the others. Blond malt and yeast as well. Some fruit and hoppy notes in the finish.
