| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 31, 2009 Bottle courtesy of Dr. McDonald of the NW Passage. Color is a nice dark garnet/ruby with a purpley head that fast retreats. Aroma is clean wood, cherry, vinegar malt. Flavor is off-putting slightly - while not totally reminiscent of Old Cherry Ale, the resemblance in fruit is plain. The finish moves away from generic American ’sour’ and toward a more Continental funky presence, but the yeast wasn’t varied enough, I guess, to really entrench such a sensation. Pretty unified, but missing a layer or two of complexity. MaltOMeal (653), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA

Pours a clear, dark brown with an off-white head. Nose is of cherries. Taste is strong, tart cherry concentrate. Mouthfeel is tart and dry. rmussman (906), California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 29, 2009 Very interesting... definitiely has a lot of cherry flavor but also has a solid dark beer base. Certainly not a true Kriek, much more of a beer.
Worth a try. CaptainCougar (5530), Rockville, Maryland, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 28, 2009 Pours a transparent dark mahogany with ruby hues and a thin, wispy-lacing white head. Aroma of sweet sugary candied cherries and some dark caramel malt. Starts with good fullness and finely dissolved carbonation along with a good caramel maltiness and dark cherry flavor before a sweet and tart finish. A pretty good fruit beer. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 28, 2009 Pours into a flute with a reddish orange color and a sour cherry aroma. The flavor is cherry and oak with a dry finish. The base beer does not taste anything like a lambic, so this is more of a fruit beer than a kriek.
