| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 16/20 | Mar 2, 2009 Nose of cherries, caramel, sour fruit, berries, oak and toast. Deep amber with garnett highlights, light haze, off white but quickly disappating head. Light to thin body. Flavors of sour cherries, caramel, oak, toffee, light grain and sweet-tart. Lightly puckering finish. Could use some more complexity, but a nice beginning kkearn (1013), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 1, 2009 22oz bottle, from Liquid solutions. Pours transparent reddish brown, topped with a medium sized off-white head. Aroma is mild tart cherry, wood, and brown sugar. Flavor is sweet malt, oak, and cherry juice. Medium bodied, a bit syrupy. It’s drinkable, but I expected more from New Belgium. fredandboboflo (1431), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 1, 2009 Bottle. Aroma of apple (sort of ciderish), dark cherry, sweet apricot. Flavor sour, lightly acidic, mildly fruity, mildly oaky. Pretty light-bodied. Just kinda blah. CaryTheDude (1113), Longmont, Colorado, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 1, 2009 Crushed with Jakebra. Go New Belgium. Very impressed. Very sour, fruity, kinda musty nose. Same in the flavor. Incredibly drinkable, and yet pretty awesome at the same time. LilBeerDoctor (1530), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 28, 2009 Bottle courtesy of BigEBeer. Pours a clear reddish brown with a small tan head. Aroma of light, sugary fruits (a touch of cherry perhaps). Flavor of darker fruits (more currants than cherry), some oak barrel, and cinnamon. This kind of reminds me of Kirs (cassis syrup + champagne). Spritzy mouthfeel. A touch of sourness but not as fruity as I’d like. This was a little disappointing.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Feb 28, 2009 Not so much a fruit beer as a kriek. The aroma is very light in bretts with fruity and funky notes. Flavor is tannic oak with notes of sourness and cherries. Pours an auburn red with white/pink head. iowaherkeye (1877), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 28, 2009 22oz bottle, no date from Crosling--thank you Nick! aplusbreaks also sent me a couple. Clear dark auburn red with a one finger beige head, fading to a thin film and ring before long. Dark cherry juice up front in the aroma with some oak and caramel. The flavor is tart cherry juice with some aforementioned caramel and a dry oaky finish. Alcohol is present, but not overpowering. Light carbonation with a medium body. This is correctly listed as a fruit beer, and not a sour beer. Oh, and a pretty big disappointment from New Belgium.
