| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 16, 2009 22 oz. bottle. Pours a thin off white head over a clear amber red (SRM 20) body....nose initially is sour cherry, then a bit of barnyard funk.....taste starts slightly sweet cherry, than lactic type sourness arrives and lingers....mouth feel is light to medium, carbonation medium. This is much lighter and less complex over all than I had expected. Light, sour, refreshing are my discriptors of this beer. ChristianScheffel (4662), Odense, Denmark
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 16, 2009 Brown with a lasting off-white head. Aroma of caramel and dried fruit, with some marzipan and a hint of American oak and tannin. Sweet and slightly tart cherry flavour with notes of laquer and wood. scrizzz (1326), kirkland, Washington, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 11, 2009 Dark deep ruby, strong wild barely tan head. Little tart, mostly sweet, fully cherry aroma. I get the part that’s aged in wood, it’s there, but mostly I get the young simple dark ale. The times where the wood aged beauty comes out hints at magical, but those times haven’t any legs and are mere glimpses. The dark base grounds the experience and makes the whole bottle a drinkable entity for anyone, not just the lovers of the wood aged expensive beer. In this case, ’it is what it is’ comes out as an defense and not an excuse. Great job. MesandSim (5946), London, Greater London, England
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 10, 2009 A Mes rate: bottle at the ever brilliant Chris O’s Pre GBBF Extravaganza. Clean amber with a thin off white head. Fruity nose, slight barrel and maybe a little too much malt. Good flavour. The cherry is very delicate but clearly there. Excellent soft wooden notes. The barrel aging has been done really well if maybe not quite long enough. Overall, it’s very much like a good quality Flemish sour with some delicate cherry. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 7, 2009 Bottle at the legend of Chriso’s pre GBBF09 Tasting. Alround rating: Cherry and berry as a whole fruityness, fairly tart, bit of buttery brewing cearel comes through later. Perhaps not aged for long enough. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 4, 2009 Bottle from southbay shared with my homies. Disappointing as the ratings have showed. Some cherry, some oak, but for the most part it just p00tzy. Meh. Give me some c&c la folie! hughie (3079), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England

Vegetal aroma with some cherry developing. Sweetness and sourness in the taste, quite intense and demanding, tending towards the vinegary. Dry finish. Unusual. Interesting. Challenging beer.
