Incredible cherries and chocolate, but not all robust: has a delicate belgian medicinal undertone that makes this wildly unique. Stupid delicious.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 13, 2009 Pours a dark ruby, no head. Aroma is that of tart cherries, barnyard funk. Flavor is sour and a little sweet. Palate is acidic and carbonated but a little weak for this style. Overall, its alright but not much depth. WesKBob (321), Bethany, Oklahoma, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 10, 2009 Pours a dark ruddy brown. Thin off-white head with light carbonation and minimal lacing. Aroma is sweet cherries and oak. Flavor has hints of caramel malt, vanilla and tart cherries. Cherry flavor was not as strong or as sour as I’d expected, but not unpleasant. Medium mouthfeel and masks the ABV well. Slightly astrngent finish. Not NB’s best work, but nice. zach8270 (2126), Henrietta, New York, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 4, 2009 (bottle - 22 oz) Dark brown color with a fluffy tan head. Aroma is dark cherries and caramel malts with a hint of sourness, earthy notes, and wood. Flavor begins with a nice and smooth cherry tartness with a sweet followup that quickly turns into a sour flavor. Sourness lingers for a bit but doesn’t overpower the natural cherry flavor. Big fan. mattmc1973 (305), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 21, 2009 Bomber, poured into a flute glass. Dark ruby/brown with thin beige head. Aroma of dark cherries, wood, and caramel malt. Taste is tart dark cherry juice and sweet caramel malt. A nice balance of sweet and light sour. Light/medium mouthfeel, very crisp and carbonation, and quenching. Very good beer, I dig this one! RCL (1480), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Oct 15, 2009 This beer is spectacular. Like blend of imperial porter and kriek. Rich, chocolate covered cherries aroma. The flavor is lightly sweet with a lightly tart finish. Rich and elegant. DMRz (224), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Oct 15, 2009 Pours a dark brown-red with a hint of white head. Aromas of sour red cherries, vanilla, and green apple. Flavours of semi-sweet cherries, a healthy dose of buttery oak, and chocolate caramel. There is a delightful balance of sweet and sour flavours here that complement each other admirably. If I had not been told that this was a blend I would have never guessed - interesting and very enjoyable. JK (2961), Richfield, Minnesota, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Oct 11, 2009 This is pretty bad. Light acidic aroma. Flavor of stomach acid, oak, and cherry. I don’t mind acid, but there is something off about this. The oak is ok, but the cherry is off as well, very medicinal. I wonder if something went wrong with the bottle. will rerate when i get the chance.
