Commercial Description:
Deep burnished gold with a slight haze, Le Fleur Misseur opens with pineapple, clove and honey notes. Dry-hopping produces a flower leaf aroma supported by tones of fresh bread and honey. Le Fleur finishes dry and slightly herbal. Produced for New Belgium coworkers to celebrate our 15th anniversary, Le Fleur has roots in the earliest days of our history. In 1988 founder Jeff Lebesch sat weary on the side of a Belgian road when a young lad passing by picked a delicate yellow flower and offered it to Jeff. “Le Fleur, Misseur?” Jeff misspelled the boy’s comment in his journal as he accepted the offering. A treasured memory, a beer to treasure. Brewed in honor of the New Belgium’s 15th anniversary. It is a tip of the hat to Orval.

Blonde with good, creamy white head / Lovely, perfumey, nose of bread, lemon, violets, and lemongrass / Light to medium body, creamy, with excellent balance and slightly hoppy finish / Mellow, smooth, resinous flavors of lemongrass, pineapple, violets, cloves, marjoram, coriander, and cream / A blonde ale? Outstanding.

Drat at Liar’s Club. I really enjoyed this one. Floral aromas with hints of honeysuckle and lavender. Flavors were similar with floral notes and more sweet lavender. Very interesting flavor complexity. Spicy and peppery. Fruity and yummy. I liked it more than I had expected.

house.. . pours a medium gold with some haze. has a good head, some nice lacing qualities. has something to it, a weird fun delicious bitterness, like brett on a carnival ride... i want to write good things but its just to good. fuck it. is very orval like, just a bit more user friendly.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtEZMzWS68Q .. give this to everyone on earth, and orval will beat bud light in global sales.. . hi, a shorter version of hello. .. . lacing is a medium porn producer white out.. . great light fulfilling mouthfeel.. . Franka Potente is such a fuckin hotty! .. . this is a very well made beer, it, as the label says, it is a tip of the hat to orval, but it is done in such a people friendly, refined and non pretentious way, like orval but not trying to invade on it. i hope people give this a chance, its dreamy! .. people can’t fly, but why not!!!! try this brew, its one of new belgiums best!.. i don’t give a shit if you can see the seam..

I think this has a quite excellent floral light citrus aroma. The flavor is certainly on the light end, but is also quite distinctly defined, with a pleasant light dry hop finish. Good stuff.

Pour is ever so slightly hazed golden yellow with a thin sticky white head that left a slight delicate amount of lacing...smell is slightly sweet and funky at first with some horseblankety brett-ish notes...also some sweet bubblegum as well...maybe hints of lemon zest...mouthfeel is lively and far from slight...some nice barnyard flavors with straw and hay...then faint hints of earth...light light notes of tartness come out...some nice residual bubblegummy sweetness in the finish as some light grassy bitterness rounds out the sweetness and tartness...definately Orval-esque, but far from a mediocre clone...a wonderful interpretation!!!!

Another very special treat. This beer pours a slightly hazy golden with a thick creamy head with sticky lacing. Floral and spicy nose with hints of sweat bread. The floral come through in the flavor. As it rolls across the palate it develops into a nice tartness in the finish. Delightful beer

22 oz bottle. Pours a hazy dark yellow with a pillowy white head that retains well and leaves a lot of lacing.

The aroma is bretty musty yeast (horse blanket?) with some lemon.

The flavor is sweet malts with bright lemoney fruits leading to a medium bitterness with a good amount of brett. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with great carbonation.

Overall, a great beer. I love the balance of the sweet fruits and brett. I found it best colder, as it sat it mellowed a bit too much.

Tasted 2/29/08. 750ml bottle, 2007 edition. Heady citrus earthy hop white caverous head. Quickly dissipating head. Musty oaky and smooth. Good effervescence. Smooth, so smooth. Big and fruity. Fresh yet melded. Flavors of citrus and red berries. Touch cereal grains. Good dry and musty. Cinnamon peppery and spicy. So much smoother than the other Sours. So much milder. Touch bready yeast. Easy with a great flavor. What an opportunity! Thanks to Ryan from NBB for this total treat!
