Apr 6, 2009 Sticky sweet hops in the aroma. Lovely pine and plenty of citrusy hops in the nose. A much more west coast beer than I was expecting from New Belgium. Very interesting!

Apr 5, 2009 Draft at Flying Saucer. Pours golden amber with a white head and webby lacing. Aroma of doughy malts, biscuit, and floral hops. Lighter side of medium bodied with average carbonation, but not watery. Flavor of toasted malts, biscuit, land faint caramel countered by a moderate leafy hoppiness. There is also a tinge of lemon as well. Clean finish with some slight toastiness and spice. For a lighter, refreshing beer, this is well-balanced and not watery. This is a beer that’s hard to classify, as it sort of has it’s own thing going on.

Apr 3, 2009 Draft at one of our locals. Pours a thick, gradually deflating white head with attractive lacing, over a clear golden (SRM 10) body...nose is light with mild hop floweryness, bready tones and yeast....tastes initially mild malt roastiness leading into a mild hop bitter finish, minimal citrus tones, slightly sweet throughout, nicely balance but light....mouth feel is medium carbonation balances nicely. A pleasant ale but a little too light.

Apr 2, 2009 Lemony orange copper in color (if that makes sense). Aroma consists of herbal grassy hops. Sweet malt flavor with a touch of fruity apple. Slight hops bitter aftertaste. Overall it’s a damn good brew. It gets better as you drink it.

Apr 2, 2009 Pours pale golden with a thin white head. Nose and flavor are sweet citrus. Bright mouthfeel. Definitely on the sweet side.

Mar 31, 2009 Clear pale amber with a two finger white head. Plentiful lacings. Aroma is green fresh hops. Taste is green fresh bitter hops with a better than average honey malt sweetness. Not a big APA but a delicious beer nonetheless. A nice change of pace from the usual beers of this style. Palate is light but satisfying. Good job NB! I will most likely drink a bunch of this.

Mar 30, 2009 12oz bottle. Light gold with a lasting white head. Grassy, earthy and lightly bready aroma. The flavor has a rough bitterness and earthy hops that kind of bounce off the light malty base. This just doesn’t come together at all.

Mar 28, 2009 Clear and golden draught with a 1 finger white foamy head.
Smell was subtle: cascade and honey malt.
Flavor was very hoppy for a New Belgium, and all around pretty good for an APA.
Mouthfeel was a little high in carbonation, although it fit the style well, and the hops smoothed it out in the back. All around a great APA, very drinkable, and easy to share with just about anyone! I’ll return for more!
