Strong floral notes that lend to a somewhat unbalanced palate. Overall, not my favorite New Belgium ale. markas101 (589), Fargo, North Dakota, USA

Spicy aroma, very fresh and hoppy. Nice level of carbonation, medium body, very nice peppery aftertaste. This is a really good beer. Pawola22 (783), Kansas City, Missouri, USA

Pours a clear, copper body with an inch thick, white head that dissipates quickly and remains moderately laced. Aroma is very sweet grapefruits. Literally like store bought grapefruit juice...very sweet. Some pine in there as well as some biscuit malts. Flavor is similar and very well balanced, typical of most New Belgium beers. Sweet, sugary grapefruits and the familiar mild biscuit malt. Leaves a mellow, sweet bitter aftertaste. Palate is full, round, and smooth. Overall, a pretty nice APA. I like the sweetness that this beer provides and a good amount of mellow, straightforward citrus hop. Another solid New Belgium offering. guild (4), , Colorado, USA does not count | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 21, 2009 The closest thing New Belgium has to an IPA, and it’s about time. It is still just a pale ale. Bitter aroma, smooth drink. Perfect for a hot day. Very good Pale Ale astrofrk (219), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Mar 21, 2009 Amber. Lasting foamy head. Aroma: Citris hops + more hops. Flavor: Same with a mild touch of honey. Bitter-sweet finish. As a hop-head, this has much to offer. However, it lacks the complexity to be a really great beer. It has enough hops to be an IPA and is a good beer... just not a GREAT beer. fly (1333), austin, Tejas, USA

Enough hops to do it justice and more. The body may be thinnish, but what the hell - it’s easily drinkable. clasley (153), Arkansas, USA

Nice citrus and pine filled nose. Medium body. Somewhat thin malt profile offset by an ample hop bitterness. Nice drinkable beer. illidurit (896), Santa Cruz, California, USA

Clear gold color with a robust white head that leaves some nice lacework. Aroma is lightly citric and piney. Flavor is crystal malty and biscuity with a pine sol hoppiness and a weird peppery note. Earthy with very little bitterness. Body is a shade under medium, carbonation is a little high.
