Commercial Description:
MIGHTY ARROW Pale Ale provides lots of pleasurable sniffs from Amarillo and Cascade hops with a fetching honey malt base. This is our brewed tribute to Arrow, Kim’s Aussie/Border Collie mix who ran (literally) New Belgium for 12 years. When she wasn’t patrolling the brewery grounds, she was famous for her office visits: She never met a tummy rub she didn’t like. Atta girl Arrow.

Bottle. Pours gold with a moderate white head. Aroma of orange, grapefruit, light pine, sourdough bread, and grain. Tastes of sourdough, with bitter orange, pine, and normal bread. Finishes earthy with buttered toast, pecans, and is absent of citrus. i rated this from the bottle, which I enjoyed more. When I had it on tap, it was a bit soapy and off and I know that wasn’t the bar’s fault.

Very sweet hop aroma. Very light color almost like apple juice. Very mild sweet taste very easy to drink, good carbonation.

Brilliantly clear with an egg shell white dense fluffy head. The aroma is rich with cascade’s citrus spice which mixes with the piney floral notes of the amarillo with underlying biscuit notes. The body is fairly light with slight creaminess. There is an initial hop hint as the beer enters the mouth but the malt soon lets its presence known with a slight caramel note to it which rounds into an appropriate level of bitterness for a pale ale. There is a lingering sticky bitterness. An overall very good example of the style however I think the bitterness dominates the taste a little more than it should.

Bottle from Bevmo. Pours hazy orange with a short off white head. Aroma is sweet citrus and pine, some nutty malt, floral, hops presence is pungent. Flavor is far more mild that the aroma suggests. Citrus, light bitterness and tart, some mellow malt in the background. Light to medium bodied with smooth carbonation, very refreshing.

12 ounce bottle from the Libation Station in Johnson City, TN. Pours a hazy reddish amber color with a medium head. Decent head retention and fair speckled lacing. Aroma is leafy hops, citrus and honey. The taste is very hoppy with grapefruit, pineapple, peach, light resin and honeyish malts. Medium bodied. Hits

Poured yellow with a thin white head. Lightly hopped aroma. Taste is grassy hops and a touch of roast malt. Hint of grapefruit. Slightly bitter.

The pour was clear pale copper with a one-finger tall white head with spotty lacing. The aroma was citrus hops, light spice and hemp. The flavor was thin, lemony citrus, a bit of caramel malt backbone, some hemp and some unpleasant ashtray. The mouthfeel was thin but overall it was drinkable and a somewhat enjoyable take on the style.

Not a bad bew. Not nearly as hoppy as I was expecting it to be. I’ve had better summer beers, but this one deserves recognition.
