If i didnt know any better, id think this was a Stone IPA. One of the best of the style that ive ever had. I like it! vikingguy (146), Chaska, Minnesota, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 23, 2009 A nice hoppy brew that takes on a clean, sweetening finish. Plenty of hop aromas, soapy and tart grapefruit. Medium palate and plenty of enriching malts on the finish. Dark gold with a whitish head. beergod (102), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 23, 2009 You know this brewery gets a lot of crap, but remember they are a green brewery and do have some good brews. So forget fat tire and think honestly. This pale is more of a traditional English pale than an APA. Still it’s solid and refreshing even though most of the new school would say mild ,or bland. A winner and you knew all along that if NBBC ever made a pale ale it would be traditional and solid! Let’s face it they sell a butt load of beer and don’t really need us to buy it! some one will because it’s good! fidelis83 (720), Clinton, Iowa, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 20, 2009 Pours gold with a 3 finger creamy white head that has great retention and leaves decent lacing. Aroma is nice fresh hops, mostly pine, some citrus, caramel, straw, grainy malt and a definite malt sweetness. Flavor is grapefruit, evergreen, caramel, straw, juicy hops. Good stuff. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 19, 2009 12oz bottle poured into a shaker (with a Fat Tire logo screened on the side). NBMA pours urine yellow, clear and with a largish fluffy stark white head. The only smell from this beer is hops. It smells good though! This beer is darned close to an IPA but it doesn’t quite have that rough edge that IPAs have. It is hoppy but smooth and very drinkable. I’d hazard to say that this may be New Belgium’s best beer. I’m very impressed. Kudos to Arrow for inspiring this beer. Every dog has its day. TheSponge (281), Lynnwood, Washington, USA
