Commercial Description:
Our first venture into organically-produced beer, Mothership Wit Organic Wheat Beer elevates the zesty Wit or White beers of Belgium. Our far-flung Beer Rangers affectionately refer to our Fort Collins brewery as the Mothership, a name that conjures images of earth shot from space and the interconnectivity of it all. Mothership Wit is brewed with wheat and barley malt, as well as coriander and orange peel spicing resulting in a balance of citrus and sour flavors held in suspension by a bright burst of carbonation.

Bottle. Golden-yellow beer with an off-white head. Spice, yeast and light clove/banana aroma with light wheat and light lemon. Wheat flavor with light lemon, light banana/clove, and slight spice. Medium bodied. Wheat lingers with light sice and light banana.

Bottle from Green’s Discount. Pours a light, cloudy gold with a thin white head. Lemon citrus and spice notes compliment the thick, yeast/bread nose. Flavor is much crisper than the nose suggests. Very citrus - orange and a bit of lemon with a lot of carbonation. Not memorable but not bad and certainly better than the Fat Tire I had the other day. A lot of hype surrounding the introduction of this brew to my area seems largely unwarranted, although this offering is certainly decent.

Bottle from Icecody, thanks! Pale blonde, hazy, creamy head. Coreander and orange in the aroma. Citrus flavor (tangerine and lemon) with lots of coreander and a hint of anis. Malty sweetish, medium bodied. A good thirst quencher, and a well made wit.

22 oz bottle. Pours a cloudy pale yellow color with a large pale white head. It has a nice wheat and yeast smell. Tastes very refreshing with a nice lemon, herb and bread taste.

Bomber best by 25SEP09, here on 05JUN09. Huge coriander nose, a little airy herbalness with hanging citrus. Palish yellow-golden with a huge, creamy, rocky, brilliantly white head. Body itself looks sort of sickly. Taste much the same as the nose, very cool zinging zest dominates, coriander that was so big in the nose is suddenly backed way off. I do like that lemon. Light-medium body is nice and creamy, wheat is really nice here. A very good, slightly different take, not totally out of left field, but enough that I’d wager I could pick it blind out of a flight.

Aroma - wheat, citrus. Appearance - Cloudy yellow with a medium white head w/ good end retention. Flavor - Wheat, citrus, lemon, tiny bit of spice. Palate - light body, thin feel, average carbonation and a a weak finish. Overall impression - I didn’t like this beer. it tasted like a good wheat beer that someone poured some water into. Flavors are there, but every thing is weak and watery. Couldn’t recommend this one unless you’ve never had a good wit.

Bomber from Farm Fresh. Pours pale yellow with a thin white head. Bready aroma with a hint of lemon. Sour, citrus taste and way too carbonated. The head reminds me a bit too much of Alka-Seltzer. There are way too many good witbier’s and hefeweizen’s out there to spend much time on this one. Not bad, but there really isn’t much to this one.

Bottle - This is a very nice Witbier, tons of spice and flavor that something more popular like Blue Moon doesn’t have. Nice citrus notes, a nice change.
