Commercial Description:
Our first venture into organically-produced beer, Mothership Wit Organic Wheat Beer elevates the zesty Wit or White beers of Belgium. Our far-flung Beer Rangers affectionately refer to our Fort Collins brewery as the Mothership, a name that conjures images of earth shot from space and the interconnectivity of it all. Mothership Wit is brewed with wheat and barley malt, as well as coriander and orange peel spicing resulting in a balance of citrus and sour flavors held in suspension by a bright burst of carbonation.

Pours a clody yellow with a thin white head and decent lacing. Very wheat-like aroma with some spice and orange as well. A tart, refreshing wit with the expected citrusy and wheaty tastes. A good beer for a hot day or just when you are looking for something light and easy to drink.....

A nice little wit. I’m not sure about all of the presentation they’re into with the bottle and the organic claims. Whether or not the carbonation is ideal, it is sound and balanced. A little hazy and a nice taste.

Bottle 12 oz. Looked like a wit, tasted like a wit, and after it warmed above the recommended temp of 50 was actually not too bad. No head retaining capability however. OK for supermarket beer where nothing else is available but I doubt I’ll buy it again.

Location: Friend picked one up in NC (22 oz bottle), apparently they just started selling it there, vaguely remember drinking it in CO a few years back as well, but this rating is from the recent tasting...3/20/09

Aroma: Strong citrus, mostly lemon
Appearance: Cloudy, light yellow color
Flavor: Sour, lemon, minimal spice, slight orange
Palate: Light body
Overall Impression: Fairly average, hardly interesting, not bad, just not exciting, its a citrus wheat...it is what it is...

22oz from Total Wine, Durham, brought home by my lovely wife. BMC looking pour, in all honesty, though the carbonation is cleaner and the head somewhat more crisp. Yeasty nose with a fairly careless afterthought in the guise of citrus and spice. Mouthfeel is average. Flavor is pretty bland, probably not even as good as Blue Moon. Washes out thin and somewhat acrid.

courtesy of vasdef42. Pours cloudy golden, thin white head. Aroma citrus, spices of coriander with a light bready nose, regular orange peel and some grainy wheat. Simple. Taste, just typical witbier, the mouthfeel has a good presence of citrus zest, orange peel is light and watered down. Not a bad beer, but nothing groundbreaking.

Bomber...very light and cloudy wheat beer. A bit thin flavor-wise but could be a good beginner’s white. Liked this much more than Fat Tire. Very clean finish.
