Commercial Description:
Our first venture into organically-produced beer, Mothership Wit Organic Wheat Beer elevates the zesty Wit or White beers of Belgium. Our far-flung Beer Rangers affectionately refer to our Fort Collins brewery as the Mothership, a name that conjures images of earth shot from space and the interconnectivity of it all. Mothership Wit is brewed with wheat and barley malt, as well as coriander and orange peel spicing resulting in a balance of citrus and sour flavors held in suspension by a bright burst of carbonation.

Lemon, banana and yeast. Spice and malt. Coriander, clove and pepper. Somewhat light and unsubstantial. Lactic notes and light body.

9/26/2007: New Belgium Mothership Wit has a cloudy, pale yellow (it’s almost white really) color with a thin white head and a moderate+ level of visible carbonation. I would describe the aroma as "beer-y wheat" with some wheat malt and spice that stands out here and there. The flavor is that of a typical Wit. It is delicately spiced and has some distand orange peel flavor. It is lightly sweet with some light lemony and yeast qualities. It has a quick finish and a light to medium-light body. This beer is well-balanced overall and is refreshing.

12 oz bottle, 7 months after bringing to east coast into pokal style Liefmans glass. Pours cloudy pale yellow, tall slowly dissipating head. Appropriately lacking in clarity. Heavy wheaty, coriander aroma. Flavor is traditional wit, though heavier on coriander than orange, picking up a bit of lemon. Light mouthfeel, dry almost lactic level sour finish, clean without aftertaste.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy yellow golden color with a small frothe bubbly white head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is a strong clove and banana with citrus. Decent lacing on the glass. The taste is a sweet fruit and lemon with a dry finish. A decent wit from New Belgium.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a typically thin head, of minimal duration, over a pale yellow cloudy body.....nose of wheat, spices, citrus....tastes of coriander, citrus...finish is dry. Typical light palate and flavors, good summer beer.

On tap at ESPN Zone in Denver. Cloudy straw yellow, dense merangue head. Sweet spicey aroma, with faint musty yeast. Sweet zesty palate with lots of orange peel and coriander, finish is a little tart.

Citrus and sour abound, with some nice orange peel and coriander. I dig this beer. This feels as good as it tastes.

Solid pour with nice hazy golden with attractive white head. Decent spiced cloved coriander nose with cereal notes. Lighter body with slightly watery breadiness. Decent overall composition.
