Commercial Description:
Our first venture into organically-produced beer, Mothership Wit Organic Wheat Beer elevates the zesty Wit or White beers of Belgium. Our far-flung Beer Rangers affectionately refer to our Fort Collins brewery as the Mothership, a name that conjures images of earth shot from space and the interconnectivity of it all. Mothership Wit is brewed with wheat and barley malt, as well as coriander and orange peel spicing resulting in a balance of citrus and sour flavors held in suspension by a bright burst of carbonation.

(Bottle) Pours a hazy golden color with a medium sized white head. Aroma of citrus, spice and bread. Spice is more prevalent in the flavor. Sweet and sour notes... with a good balance. Light yeast and even some apricot in the finish. Could use a slightly more robust body, but still better than many of the style.

Pours a very light gold in color, and I mean very light. Very cloudy with a minimal head that is gone before you know it. Smell is slightly yeasty, with some lemon zest and hint of citrus. A little cloying in the mouthfeel. Taste is not light fruit enough. Get too much of the yeast characteristics. I’ve yet to be impressed with this brewery.

Hazy straw yellow with mild white soapy head. Aroma of yeast, coriander, orange peel, spice. Taste of coriander, yeast, orange peel and citrus. Over carbonated and kind of thin and astringent. Aftertaste is kind of sour mixed with some corn.

Bottle: pours cloudy yellow with a wheat and spice aroma. Refreshing taste can be described as crisp and zesty. Wheat beer with a little spice I would not turn this down.

bottle thanks to swalden_28. poured a hazy straw yellow with a thin fizzy white head. aroma was strong with citrus, banana, and some mild spice. flavor of citrus, a little spice, and light grains followed by a slight dry bitter. high carbonation. this was pleasant to drink, would drink again anytime.

12 ounce bottle purchased at the Davis Food Co-Op. Aroma is pretty bright and crisp with a bit of metal, lemon, and some coriander. Pretty aromatic. Mild-moderate hazy straw body with a smallish white head and average lacing. Start has a very quick lemony astringent flavor before this becomes quite sweet, grainy, and a bit musty. Odd. Lacks the bite that I expect in a wit. Has a bit of a creamy doughy flavor to finish. I don’t know, this is just boring as hell.

Grew on me as an enjoyable wit. Lighter than it should be, spice combination wards off the ester. Well carbonated and of course organic.

Found this review I wrote on back of gas receipt from Vegas trip. Bought at Smith’s grocery. Pours hazy light yellow with a fluffy white head, decent retention, some lace. Smells of yeast with some slight citrus. Flavor of light citrus. Medium body, subdued carbonation. Enjoyable
