Commercial Description:
Our first venture into organically-produced beer, Mothership Wit Organic Wheat Beer elevates the zesty Wit or White beers of Belgium. Our far-flung Beer Rangers affectionately refer to our Fort Collins brewery as the Mothership, a name that conjures images of earth shot from space and the interconnectivity of it all. Mothership Wit is brewed with wheat and barley malt, as well as coriander and orange peel spicing resulting in a balance of citrus and sour flavors held in suspension by a bright burst of carbonation.

mothership wit came highly ridiculed by the ayn rand loving bartender at the fox and hound. so it made me happy to order a full pint of this new new belgium classic. the pint poured a clear, bright yellow with few bubbles. aroma spoke of lemons and bananas - a scent as yellow as the liquid hue. subtle citrusy flavor gives way to a zestily fuzzed mouthfeel in the aftertaste. enormous traces of bananas beside lemons the size and shape of enormously furry peaches. i like this beer. a feel good ale perfect for tart desserts, crepes at breakfast, or an afternoon game of backgammon on the back deck. i’d sip on this while listening to old tammy wynette records and writing letters to my own mother.

12 oz bottle-pours a white head and hazy/cloudy yellow/straw color. Aroma is lemon, wheat, milk/whip cream? Taste is lemon, wheat, slight spice, creamy. Light body. Mild carbonation. Easy drinking. Thanks to Russ Powell in trade jwc215 & I did.

Bottle. Pours a clouded yellow with a fairly significant head and carbonation. Nose is citus and hints of banana. Flavor is very nice and refreshing, continued with the citrus and background banana. Very clean. If they bumped up the flavors a bit this would be even better, however it’s a nice summer refresher as it is. Thanks to theisti for the bottle.

Banana, orange, cream, wheat and sour yeast aromas. Lightly sour citric wheat flavor. Light earthy yeast and coriander. Sublte palate is has an almost waxy texture and is damn smooth. Very carbonated, but not offensive Underrated my friends.

Cloudy gold, massive puffy white head. Very aromatic peppery/lemony yeast notes; coriander also prominent. Dry, clean malts in aroma, light banana yeastiness, lightly bitter and tart finish. Nicely done; a little fruity and dry overall.

After spending five years in Germany, I had tried many types of beer, My favorite was Hefe Weisen. This is very close to the taste of my favorite beer. If I was a Bud fan. I probably wouldn’t like it. But I really do like this beer.

Almost whitish yellow color with a nice thick marshmellow head has long retention and some slight lacing. Strong coriander aroma. Taste is a little more sour than most wits, more coriander and that orange zest peeks through in the finish. Nice although the sourness which to my taste almost borders on hoppiness makes this a little less of an easy summer outdoor drinker than other good wits. Still a very nice beer though.
