Commercial Description:
Our first venture into organically-produced beer, Mothership Wit Organic Wheat Beer elevates the zesty Wit or White beers of Belgium. Our far-flung Beer Rangers affectionately refer to our Fort Collins brewery as the Mothership, a name that conjures images of earth shot from space and the interconnectivity of it all. Mothership Wit is brewed with wheat and barley malt, as well as coriander and orange peel spicing resulting in a balance of citrus and sour flavors held in suspension by a bright burst of carbonation.

Draught. Hazy gold with a creamy head. The aroma is mainly spicy, with pepper and coriander; some light wheat tartness. Crisp wheat flavor with plenty if spice over it. The orange peel is subtle, and not as much as I like in a wit. Finishes thin, with a light body and likely carbonation. Definitely a good warm weather beer; quite refreshing and clean. (3.2) rerate: 12oz bottle. Nice spicey and orangey aroma. The flavor is yeasty and sweet, though some spice counters. Better than I had thought before. a pretty good wit.

Pours a pale, cloudy yellow with a foamy head that went away quickly. Good herbal and citrus aromas. Very yeasty, almost breadlike, with orange just in the background and some spice notes. Refreshing and substantial. More than just a summer "cooling off" beer. I like this!

Poured a very light, pale yellow -- transparent, and with a very short, thin white head. Very nice aroma, with nice citrus and hops at the forefront, and some mild spices in the background. Also actually grabbed a little of that banana. The flavor is good, but the finish left me wanting something more -- it just lingered with a rather flat flavor (not sure how to explain it). The palate is a bit too bubbly for my liking, but fitting for this Wit. Overall, pretty good. Excellent for summer, though.

22oz bottle pours extremely pale pear and grape juice yellow, moderately hazy but not murky, and it sits under a finely bubbled, tall white head. Typical wit nose, perhaps a little mild on both the orange peel and the coriander, and the wheat is dull yet smooth, and the malt and wheat base has a light honey and pear sweetness, but ultimately it’s rather dull and transparent, but it finishes with a nice bready yeast and a faint zip of lemon zest. A nice sipping beer for the spring, that’s for sure.

Pours hazy pale yellow. So pale it makes Hoegaarden seem a bit dark. Thin white head that descends to a ring of foam. Spice and lemon nose. Light body, active carbonation. Lemon, biscuit, fruit and spice in the taste. Crisp, clean and refreshing finish. This would make a pretty fine lawnmower beer.

Pours a cloudy, pale amber with a small off-white head..no lacing. Light aroma in the Wit style. Flavor is light, again in the Wit style (coriander and citrus), but with more yeast, and less spice than normal. Almost a biscuit-like flavor comes through, making this a bit more balanced than the usual Wit. Palate is carbonated, but not as fizzy as one would be accustomed to. Overall a very drinkable Wit.

Bottle. Pours cloudy yellow with a moderate white head and vigorous carbonation. Aroma is typical witbier---wheat, lemon, coriander, etc.---though light on the yeast. Flavor is similar, fairly grainy and lightly sweet. A decent middle-of-the-road white, less spiced than many but good.
