Commercial Description:
Our first venture into organically-produced beer, Mothership Wit Organic Wheat Beer elevates the zesty Wit or White beers of Belgium. Our far-flung Beer Rangers affectionately refer to our Fort Collins brewery as the Mothership, a name that conjures images of earth shot from space and the interconnectivity of it all. Mothership Wit is brewed with wheat and barley malt, as well as coriander and orange peel spicing resulting in a balance of citrus and sour flavors held in suspension by a bright burst of carbonation.

I’m a big fan of the witbiers, but this one was a disappointment. Unimpressive color, unimpressive aroma, and wow, what an overpowering and unpleasant aftertaste.

Poured from bottle a very light yellow almost clear with a bright white big foam head that faded quickly. Little noticible carbonation. Aromas of citrusy corriander and a bit of bisquity wheat - smells almost sausauge-like. The taste comes in a bit watery with an acidic tingle maybe a little citrusy sour, but the flavors don’t really distinguish themselves and fade quickly. I like wits but not this one.

A very average witbier. Refreshing for summer but not a complex ale. Enjoyable on a hot day...decent.

12 oz bottle: poured light yellow with a small white head. Just a slight haze to it. I first thought it was unfiltered but there is some yeast on the bottom of the bottle. Light aroma of banana, coriander, and a bit of orange. Bright carbonation which gets tamed towards the end. Flavor is mild grain, yeast and spice. Kind of watery in the finish. Good wit.

Doughy, floral, and subtle orange spice on the nose. Pale cloudy yellow with gold. Flavor is sweet biscuits with slight citrus and mild bitterness. Really nice carbonation, with a long glazed donut finish. Nice beer.
