Commercial Description:
Our first venture into organically-produced beer, Mothership Wit Organic Wheat Beer elevates the zesty Wit or White beers of Belgium. Our far-flung Beer Rangers affectionately refer to our Fort Collins brewery as the Mothership, a name that conjures images of earth shot from space and the interconnectivity of it all. Mothership Wit is brewed with wheat and barley malt, as well as coriander and orange peel spicing resulting in a balance of citrus and sour flavors held in suspension by a bright burst of carbonation.

Pours a very pale white-yellow color with a shorter-than-expected white head. Aroma is light and a little sweet, with some wheat and spice nodes. Flavor is similar to taste plus some citrus (orange/lemon) and more spice, but plenty of light wheat flavor. 12 oz. bottle.

This one poured with a short-lived white head and a minimum of carbonation. A lot of traditional wit spices and smells were present including the coriander and citrusy hops. It wasn’t real substantial in the mouthfeel dept., but would be a warm weater refresher. I would have another.

Bottle, BB 12/21/07. Poured hazy, milky golden with a short cap of white head. The aroma picked up sweeter oranges and a whole bunch of coriander.. spicy and somewhat cohesive with pale malts and more tart orange on the back. Tangy foray onto the tongue with orange zest, coriander, and cloves hitting hard.. after the initial hit, the middle was rather empty and more-than-amply carbonated.. some pale malt and orange meat return on the finish. Lighter-bodied with high carbonation on the palate.. dry finish kind of fizzled out. This was OK, but I wouldn’t want another.

Semi-hazy light golden color with a fast white head. Orange and lemon citrus scents with some lingering malt tones. High carbonation and a light medium body. A honey like sweetgrass with definate citrus zest flavors. Dry and limp finish.

Aroma is coriander, with moderate hops, and ironically kind of chemically. Pours with a frothy white heead that goes away quite quickly. Body is slightly hazy and golden. Flavor is spicey and pretty decent, but nothing special. Mouthfeel isn’t great, dry and fizzy.

Pours a cloudy yellow with a creamy head. Aroma was citrusy and sweet. Flavor was very light, very refreshing I think. Not bad at all.

Bought sale priced for $.99 a bomber today, best if consumed by...today. One of the lightest beers I’ve ever seen. Huge head, sea foamy on top. Lots of citrus in teh aroma. Bread, orange, lemon, and a hint of spice. Slightly sour, not much. Finishes smooth. Decent.

Weird skunk on fruity pebbles aroma, not all bad just a little weird. Pours a cloudy light yellow (one of the lightest wits I’ve seen), has a fluffy but quickly disappearing head (this may not be all fair as my wife opened this a hour ago, drank half the bottle and went to bed, thus some of the carbonation could be gone). Leaves a nice lace. Flavor is good, no fruity pebbles which is good. Lots of citrus, Lemon & Orange. The coriander is subdued, but preset. Really light and easy drinking, very smooth. Overall a tasty brew, within my top five wits.
