Commercial Description:
Our first venture into organically-produced beer, Mothership Wit Organic Wheat Beer elevates the zesty Wit or White beers of Belgium. Our far-flung Beer Rangers affectionately refer to our Fort Collins brewery as the Mothership, a name that conjures images of earth shot from space and the interconnectivity of it all. Mothership Wit is brewed with wheat and barley malt, as well as coriander and orange peel spicing resulting in a balance of citrus and sour flavors held in suspension by a bright burst of carbonation.

Bottle. Typical cloudy orange with white head. Spicy wheat aroma with orange citus, faint, maybe not at its peak. Flavor is subtle spice and wheat, but grain and orange is strong. Medium body with nice carb. Okay.

Bottle from beeronthewall. Hazy pale golden color that has some key lime pie hues, which makes this one resemble a margarita somewhat, as it definitely goes toward the pale green end of the spectrum, with 2-fingers of fluffy white head. Aroma is limey citrus, cloves, backdoor hops, malt. Tastes clovy, malty, with a prominent limey flavor and some breadiness noted. All the flavors intermingle well here, and I can say with confidence that this wit is one of the top tier wits I have yet quaffed.

Bottle. Poured a very light yellow almost like piss. Aroma is of clover and orange. The taste is not that great it is almost like any other organiac beer.

Pours a slightly cloudy yellow body with a foamy white head. The aroma is mld lemon pepper and wheat. The flavors is pretty much the same, earthy lemons mellowed by a bite of pepper with a yeasty finish.

Clear yellow with average, frothy, white head, good lacing. Pilsneresque aroma and taste, with a little banana. Very light bodied, average carbonation, refreshing.

12oz bottle. pours slightly hazed straw color with creamy white head. nose has some coriander, citrus, and wheat. flavor is citrusy, wheaty, with some lemon and pepper. body is watery. very smooth beer but slightly acidic. i think this is a decent example of the style, and would work as a gateway into the style. the flavor profile is a bit dull. there really isn’t anything offensive here and it would be easy to drink several of these.

Wasn’t very impressed with this Belgian wit. It is very hoppy, but has a relatively plain taste. For some reason it was the opposite of thirst-quenching. I expected more from New Belgium Brewing Company.
