bitbucket (1473), Kirkland, Washington, USA Apr 25, 2008 Pours hazy pale yellow. So pale it makes Hoegaarden seem a bit dark. Thin white head that descends to a ring of foam. Spice and lemon nose. Light body, active carbonation. Lemon, biscuit, fruit and spice in the taste. Crisp, clean and refreshing finish. This would make a pretty fine lawnmower beer.
Homer321 (25), Rockledge, Florida, USA Jul 18, 2008 aroma is very spicy. appearance cloudy per style. nice head and lacing. flavor is crisp with peppery accents. very refreshing. overall a very nice american version of a wit. very sessionable. dolemite77 (140), Maryville, Tennessee, USA Jul 18, 2008 (22oz bottle) Pours a cloudy straw color, with a bright white fluffy cream soda head. Aroma is heavy on the banana, but there is a funky undertone that I’m not a fan of. Body is thin, but you can’t critique a wit too much for that. There are some nice flavors to this one. Banana of course, but the spices come through a bit more in the flavor than the aroma to me. From the bottle, I like this the best of the New Belgium brews I’ve had. RollinHard (502), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Jul 16, 2008 Pours yellow, cloudy, with a moderate head. Aroma is quite nice, and fairly spicy with cloves, banana, hay. More citrus/lime to the flavor, with a sort of grain character that seems characteristic of New belgium. Yeast character leans on the pungent side more than the Sunshine. Light bodied, but decent texture. I like this beer pretty well and think it’s been a good addition to the NB line of beers. ilherps (38), USA Jul 16, 2008 This is one of the better wheat beers I have ever had. Nice spicy citrus flavors with a smooth sweet finish. Very refreshing and great for summer. Ale_Drinker (1051), Sunnyvale, California, USA Jul 15, 2008 Pours pale yellow, hazy, big white lasting head. Aroma is bright and spicy, partly from the yeast the other part from the coriander. Some lemon also. Flavor is dry. Body is light and refreshing. Some bite from the carbonation but not from the hops. Refreshing on a hot day but nothing to write home about.
