Commercial Description:
Our first venture into organically-produced beer, Mothership Wit Organic Wheat Beer elevates the zesty Wit or White beers of Belgium. Our far-flung Beer Rangers affectionately refer to our Fort Collins brewery as the Mothership, a name that conjures images of earth shot from space and the interconnectivity of it all. Mothership Wit is brewed with wheat and barley malt, as well as coriander and orange peel spicing resulting in a balance of citrus and sour flavors held in suspension by a bright burst of carbonation.

Sample at GABF 2009. Pours hazy pale yellow with thin white head. Aroma is sweet and floral with notes of banana, clove, honey, light citrus and caramel. Flavor is about the same. Generally light to medium body with pleasing light fruit finish.

Overall, a weak offering from what I believe is an over rated brewer in New Belgium. Slightly off putting aroma - almostd a slight skunkiness from a 22 ozer. Light Citrus background in flavor on a typical looking wheat beer.

12oz bottle:
Appearance: Pours a cloudy light yellow (lemonade?) with very little bit of white head and some lace in the glass
Aroma: Banana and citrus Taste: Bready, banana and citrus flavors. Finishes with a sour aftertaste.
Overall: Maybe it would have been better if I would have put some fruit on the glass :)

Pours a cloudy yellowish. Smell and taste was very citrusy and light, strong banana notes as well. Mouthfeel is a sweet malt finish with more citrus. This is a vey drinkable beer and one of my favorites of Fat Tire. This is perfect for a sunny day on the bay, or when you want your friends at a Raiders game parking lot to make fun of you for not drinking Coors LIght.

Bottle. Taste was spicy and citrus. Smell was slightly sweet with a clove/orange aroma. A little cloudy. Nice yeasty head. Good stuff.

This is the palest beer I have rated so far. Any paler and it would be Zima. It’s a cloudy yellow-white with a thin head. I actually like the color, I just expect more foam on top. Very pleasant orange and spice aroma. I detect cinnamon and clove. Flavor is very light, but well balanced. Very spritzy feel. This is not a complex beer by any means, it is just very pleasant and drinkable.

Nose is of strange spices and citrus peelings. Pours a weird looking cloudy yellow (light yellow). Flavor is of spice, orange peel, and an old band-aid. The spice taste stays with you after the swallow and that is not a good thing. This is truly bizarre tasting. I really don’t like it at all.

Nice crisp wheat smell. Looks like a dirty yellow. Strange color for a beer. Tons of citrus in the taste. kind of a watery feeling in the mouth. Real light, not a ton of flavor. A chick beer.

Very nice, slightly hazy golden yellow color. Like an early summer afternoon. Nice thick 2-finger head. Great retention and excellent lacing. Corriander and citrus zest hit the nose first, and strongly. Slight spicey smell. Lemon peel. Small bit of yeastiness. Yeasty breadiness. Lemon and orange citrus flavors. Spiciness of corriander and a touch of clove. Nice, clean wheat taste. Light, crisp, clean feeling in the mouth. A light body that benefits it well. An excellently easy drinking brew. Could enjoy this one especially well in the hot summer months. Very drinkable.
