Comes in the typical NB brown 12 oz..same water colour typoe label.
Ok pours pretty well into my Chimay glass..crystal golden colour with good looking carbonation strings and a nice frothy pure white head.
Aroma..well really I am dissapointed..there is none..some faint spiciness ..but this smells bland.
Taste also is pretty nondescript,,there is a herbal bitterness in the middle but thats about it.
Its actually a nice enough feeling beer on the palate..not too thin and it's smooth.
I dunno I have to say for me this is not too drinkable..I never thought I would give a New belgium product a below average ( for me) review..but this is a boring beer..maybe i got a bad bottle but its dated best before Oct03..oh well sometimes our heros have at least one clay foot!

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 2, 2003 Pours clear dark yellow with medium-sized white foamy head, mostly lasting. Sweet hoppy aroma that reminds me of an Oktoberfest. (Could just be that I've had too many Oktoberfests lately.) Flavor is surprisingly less hoppy, although a spruce flavor comes through. An estery malty taste ends nicely. A little too much carbonation for me. Has some of that spruce-like sage-brush flavor of the "blue paddle" brew. Definitely seems unique. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 30, 2003 On tap at New Belgium. Strong lemon and poppy aroma from this lager. Subdued bitterness with hits of hops. Refreshing drink for those summer moments. JoeM500 (1876), Chicago (little italy), Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 29, 2003 Pale malts and yeast provided a bit of soft fruitiness in the nose and taste. Very light bodied and sweet. Hoppy bitterness is soft. Sweet aftertaste lingers... chimayman (4), USA does not count | 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 11/20 | Oct 18, 2003 Nice golden color, slight hint of banana to the nose, flavor leaves quickly from mouth. Disappointed over-all.
