Estery nose with subtle notes of perfume, peach, toasted pale malts, and vanilla. Muted doughy traits marry beautifully with the soft, juicy Styrian Golding-like qualities. Stinging carbonation with a firm body. Ester flavors are immediately backed by soft, round, and lightly spicy hops. Fresh hop flavors continue with beautiful notes of passion fruit and a star anise tingle. Fresh herbal finish gives way to clean, defined yeast notes and persistent spicy hops. Sweet pale malts appear late to accommodate the healthy hop dosage. The hops are magnificent and understatedly bright, which allow the malts to momentarily beckon your attention. Highly drinkable, complex, and refreshing. Perfect summer brew. PrinceofNessus (236), Westminster, Colorado, USA

| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Aug 28, 2003 Didn't care much for this one. The aroma was yeasty and sausage-meaty (vienna sausage, bologna) to me. Dry, grassy, some of the New Belgium house-character doughiness, moderately bittered. Medium, hoppy finish, with some tin. Gotta love the NB yoked bottles. Poofy bone-colored head -- having to drink from an opaque glass, but it appears to be medium amber. The label is a little girlie. I was half-expecting to see a Raggedy Ann sitting on the porch swing... JohnC (2287), Mission Viejo, California, USA

Appearance: This is a hazy golden colored brew with a fluffy white head.
Aroma: There's a touch of alcohol and hoppiness in the aroma.
Flavor. This is a thirst quenching session beer. It's easy drinking, but nothing spectacular. erway (1002), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Aug 24, 2003 Pours a deep golden with a white fluffy head. Somewhat hazy. Fruits dominate the aroma. Rather bland flavor lacking the belgian candy-sugar typical of the style. I'll stick to the much more authentic Abbey and Tripel. mixamatt (427), San Francisco, California, USA
