Commercial Description:
New Belgium's seasonal release, Saison, pays tribute to Belgian farmhouse ales brewed to celebrate the fall harvest. Pale bronze in color, our Saison is slightly spicy and delicately hopped. A sweet malty note glides along with herbal tones produced by an authentic Belgian yeast strain. The finish is surprisingly dry.
Originally, local brewers crafted Saison beers for seasonal workers in the farming community to enjoy at the end of their day. With typical hoppy character and an intriguing Belgian twist, Saison will appeal to hop lovers and wheat beer drinkers alike. Whether you're pushing a plow or a pile of paper work, Saison will help you bask in the afterglow of a job well done.
Saison - Enjoy the season.
Pale bronze in color, this delicately hopped ale has a bright, yeasty, artisanal quality worthy of toasting those long autumn sunsets.

Draft. Very clear, pale yellow with a wisp of white. Banana and malt aromas. Banana and cloves with a some spices. Very different for a Saison.

Bottle... Clear, light golden ale with a small, fizzy, off-white head. Estery, phenolic nose with notes of spices and fruit; bubblegum, clove and peach with a dash of white pepper. Fruity, yeasty, moderately sweet flavor. Lightly citric, biscuity and grainy. Good balance. Almost full-bodied with lively carbonation. Lengthy, moderately bitter, metallic finish. Not a favorite style of mine and this one in particular wasn’t outstanding in any way. Thanks to FlacoAlto for shipping this beer to me!

Bottle. Pours a deeper clear gold with not much of a head. Nose is yeasty with some fruit. Flavor is somewhat typical farmhouse ale with some light hops. Overall, this is not a full-bodied saison but rather thin and watery. Finish is a little bitter and the carbonation is hardly apparent. This one misses the style but overall is just a light flavored brew. Thanks to tjthresh for the bottle.

Pours a clear golden with a thin white head. Aroma has strong hints of yeast with some fruit and plum. The flavor is rather simple, with notes of caramel, yeast, fruits, and lemon. Pretty easy drinking and the alcohol is hidden well.

Not a particularly great-looking beer in the glass with a clear, glossy appearance and some shimmering underneath a minute head. Aromas really show off the yeast here, along with some peat and caramel undertones. Yeasty flavors, but not much else, and certainly the minimum was done with respect to hopping this beer. Kind of delicate and short on the palate -- a bit sweet. A mixed bag.

Appearance: Gold with orange undertones.. very attractive pours with a rocky head... which did not last. Aroma: Reminiscent of saisons spicy some honey and noticeable belgian yeast nose Flavor: While the aroma has some saison qualities, it seemed more malt dominated with some tropical fruits and spices. Surprisingly alcohol was apparent as the beer warmed up. Palate: Medium light on the palatte with a nice prickle of carbonation Overall: While Peter is the master of No Style beers.. the saison seems to leave a lot to be desired.. the alcohol and sweetness ... leave a lot to be desired. I will definitely try the next seasonal and save my money for other saisons

Not bad at all. Pours a clear light gold with almost no head. Banana and spice nose. Flavors of sweet malt, banana, spice, belgain yeast, and a little bit of hops. A pretty good american saison.
