Commercial Description:
Editor's note: in 2006, Skinny Dip replaced Loft as the name of New Belgium's low-alcohol, low-calorie summer seasonal (only minor changes in recipe; i.e. still approximately 4% ABV and spiced with Kaffir lime leaf).

Skinny Dip Description: New Belgium’s Skinny Dip is a full-bodied, figure-friendly beer perfect for the lightly attired summer months. Cascade hops frolic with kaffir lime and ample malt to create a bright, citrusy nose that’s as crisp as chilling in a mountain pond. Skinny Dip - a most revealing beverage.

Loft Description: In a category all its own, Loft delivers an uplifting zest, a taut line of hoppiness, and, from integrated wheat and barley malt, a mouthful as big as the sky. Spiced with Kaffir lime leaves.

Pours golden amber with a mild head. Aroma is lots of vegetables and some malt. Flavour is very slightly hoppy with a slight malt tinge as well.

Nov 9, 2008. Bottle. Pours clear amber with a big pufy, one-finger biege head. Smells fruity, a bit of apple, citrus, and also of pine. Crisp, medium body. Well-balanced flavor, light fruity taste, with a nice bitter cascate hop finish. Very drinkable.

This beer smells like day old garbage and doesn’t taste a whole hell of a lot better. Why does New Belgium sell so much beer?

On tap at the Falling Rock in Denver (post GABF 2008). Bright clear amber gold. Skunky stale caramel aroma, weak thin caramel flavour, slightly earthy. Odd really.

Pours a golden amber color with a medium white head. Aromas of malt and some citrus hop notes. Flavor is of mostly malt with some citrus hop peeking through. You can notice the kaffir lime leaf in there as well. Very Average Thanks Ubamartian!
