riversideAK (1648), Shoreline, Washington, USA Aug 30, 2007 Spicy aroma with some coconut and some light malt. Pours gold with a small head. Fruity and spicy. This one has notes of clove as well. Pretty light. This one could be pretty dangerous at its alcohol content. It finishes somewhat crisp. Probably from the Saaz hops.
scooter_bub (192), Lander, Wyoming, USA Oct 6, 2008 Bottle. Pours a cloudy, gold color with a large, clingy, white head that fades some. Taste is of hops, wheat, yeast, fruit, caramel and malt. Some sweetness. The alcohol is hidden well. Aroma is much the same. Easy to drink and is a satisfying beer. For the price this a pretty nice beer, that is well worth visiting.
bbrock81 (192), Le Mars, Iowa, USA Oct 4, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours clear gold with a medium white head. Aroma is of a witbier - sprices and fruit. Flavor is the same, but more so. Very, very fruity. Sweet, yeasty, tasted very much like a cross between a tripel and a wit. Odd, and not what I was expecting at all. Drinkable, but a bit too "unique." lumpsowers (87), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA Sep 24, 2008 Wow. Complex, sweet, a wonderful blend of thick malt and floral, cinnamon hops. Beautiful pour with nice head and lacing, slightly weak nose. Very surprised, you’re awesome New Belgium. SSSteve (1570), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Sep 21, 2008 lightly hazy gold with nice lacing under a medium sized foamy white head. sweet yeasty, creamed corn, hops and alcohol in aroma. palate is bright and light bodied. flavors of hops, red apples, and sweet grains with yeast. a little light bodied compared to many belgians but its a solid effort. troyc (976), Lubbock, Texas, USA Sep 8, 2008 (Bottle) Pours a golden color with a small amount of white foam. Sweet yeast and light citrus/spice in the aroma. Taste is of sweet rolls, light caramel, some fruit (apple, pear), and a faint tangerine note. Didn’t really get the woody overtone described in the commercial description. Medium carbonation level, without much alcohol in the taste. Refreshing, and highly drinkable.
