The aroma was dry tart and raspberry. The smooth dry mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start mediumly tingly at the finish with a soft acidic aftertaste. The mild flavor contained notes of paper and mild sour tart raspberry. A decent one that I would consider having again. jsquire (2113), St. Marys, Ohio, USA

The nose is an assertive raspberry that borders on cough syrup. A very crisp, dry mead with very fresh raspberry flavors and noticable alcohol. Nice and tart. hotstuff (3176), Indiana, USA

Orange hue; nose was roses, sweet, and fresh raspberries; flavor was fresh raspberries and fresh fruit; mouthfeel was fairly smooth and dry. This mead has a very pronounced aroma. I would definitely drink this again if given the opportunity. Worthy of a try! shigadeyo (2263), Harrison, Ohio, USA

The tasting notes provided by the meadery provide actually a very accurate description of this mead:
This variety is our star: our Dry Red Raspberry Honey Wine is a vibrant ruby red, practically glowing in the glass. The aroma says “Hello, Raspberry!”. A subtle rose petal note plays off of the sparkling freshness of the fruit. You simply do not get any fresher than this without eating a handful of the berries themselves. The flavor is bright raspberry, well balanced, with just the right amount of tannin structure. The lasting fresh fruit finish leaves your palate crying for more!
Residual Sugar: 0% Alcohol Content: 12% Style: Still. Vintage: 2006 Batch number: 06-1 Cases Made: 70
5/20/2007: New Day Dry Red Raspberry Honey Wine has a slightly lighter coral pink color than the New Day Dry Blueberry Honey Wine. The aroma is fresh, ripe raspberries with a hint of rose. The flavor is real raspberry that moves to a rose-flavored finish (like eating a rose!). There is some dry honey flavor present mid-way through the finish as well. Soft and mellow. Quite good!
