Commercial Description:
Our Semi-Sweet Plum Honey Wine is a sweet blush wine, full of rich notes of cinnamon, dried fig and honey. This fine sweet blush wine shows a light amber color, with a lovely sweet-spice aroma. It opens onto the palate with heady notes of cinnamon and mace, flowing into a complex mixture of dried fig, raisin and Bing cherry, and ending in a rich honey finish. It is amazing just how complex a wine the combination of tree-ripened plums and wildflower honey can create! Pair this complex blush wine with a plate of aged goat cheeses and fresh figs, or along side sashimi and a bowl of natto.

This bottled mead from the meadery poured a small sized head of medium sized bubbles that were quickly diminished and left behind a light tan hued body and a light oily lacing. The aroma was fruity and contained notes of plums. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of dry sweet plums. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.

From the bottle at JK O’Donnell’s in Ft Wayne - Pours pink-red and has a sweet aroma of plum, honey, and spice. The flavor is lightly sweet with plenty of plum flavors but the honey was apparent too. This honey wine works. It didn’t blow me away, but it’s a nice, sweet drink without being cloying, a good after dinner choice.

Tasting at New Day Meadery. Amber hue and the aroma was sweet and spicey, The flavor was sweet, cinammon, raisins, honey, cherries, and finished semi-dry. Tingly mouthfeel and medium bodied. Nice, easy to drink mead and worthy of a try.

Out of a bottle at the meadery. Rose blush color and still. Big spicey nose. The flavor has lots of prune, cinnamon and fruit cake with a honey sweetness. Bold flavors that balance the honey sweetness against the fruit. The spice was a little strong for me.
