kappldav123 (948), Markkleeberg, Germany Feb 24, 2008 Big thanks to jjpm74 for the bottle. Looks incredible. The beer in the glass is okay, no foam. Starts really strong, very malty. The finish is too bitter, I think. Not very drinkable. Only an average beer!
WeeHeavySD (1699), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Jun 7, 2008 12oz 2004 vintage with a crap load of hard to get of wax. Pours apple cider like with no head, looks a bit like a weizenbock. Nose has quite a lot caramel and some other notes. Taste is sweet and very caramel rich, and pretty hot for a beer that has been aging for 4 years. Its got some nice qualities, its a big beer overall. With some more time and each sip it gets better. The heat isn’t all that bad, but i don’t know what to say about this beer. Its got a lot of good qualities, but some strange ones as well. Papsoe (9980), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 12, 2008 (Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of Degarth. Vintage 2004. Pours an unclear amber golden with a bubbly, off-white head that dissipates completely in no time. Fat aroma of caramel and overripe fruit. Full-bodied with plenty of sweet caramel notes, overripe fruit, herbs and toffee. Has a slight touch of hops in the finish. Quite lovely really and seems to get better with age. 250308 Ungstrup (11031), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 4, 2008 Updated: May 12, 2008Bottled. An unclear dark amber beer with a rim of orange head. The aroma is acidic malty combined with notes of wood - I thought it had been barrel-aged. The flavor is slightly acidic with strong notes of over ripe fruits as well as lighter notes of wood. Thanks Papsoe for sharing. KimJohansen (3026), Copenhagen V, Denmark Mar 30, 2008 Cloudy dark amber with bubbly short lasting head. Sweet vinious aroma with caramel and alcohol notes. Sweet flavor with alcohol, caramel, smoke and overripe fruits. Warming alcohol in the end. Storm (2677), Amager, Denmark Mar 30, 2008 Blind tasting at Papsoe’sHazy, amber colour with almost no head. Aroma of fat, high alpha hops and burned caramel. Great flavour of bourbon, whisky, malt, caramel, and alcohol - very tasty and alcoholic.
