Commercial Description:
Apple Ale sings with the fresh crisp taste of Wisconsin Apples. Our brewmaster begins with a brown ale base employing Wisconsin farmed wheat and a blend of Cortland, MacIntosh and Jonathan apples. Our apple growing friends squeeze them especially for this brew. Expect this ale to pour a beautiful copper color. The fresh bouquet of Apple will rise to meet you even before the glass touches your lips.

12oz bottle from woodman’s, kenosha.... a crystal clear light orange brown with a thin and quickly dissipating white head.... aroma of sweet assertive fresh apple scents that really smells quite nice and appealing....flavors were more apple juice in nature with moderate carbonation. pretty sweet overall and not too much complexity involved. really drinkable and i can see this appealing to the masses.

12oz from MatSciGuy - thanks, Levi!! Man, can New Glarus get any more rad? We had a big NG night at the tasting and my already sizable estimation grew during the evening. A big Granny Smith nose to this fine buttery golden beer, with its crisp carbonation. Lively mouthfeel. The initial sips are cider all the way, but as you get into it there is definitely a creamy, sweet quality that emerges. Hard not to say that it’s pie-like. And what kind of sick bastard doesn’t like pie?

Thanks a ton to JCB for sharing and whoever gave it to him. Pours a translucent gold with a frothy white head. The nose was just as expected, very tart apple, nice background spice character, very pungent. The flavor is spicy, very strong apple flavor, pie spices, very nice. Sweet and crisp on the mouthfeel with a mild tartness. It is what it is and is very tasty in the way it does it.

It pours a clear golden copper; effervescent, with a bubbly white head that quickly disappears. I’m not too sure what the difference is between an apple cider and an apple ale, but it tastes pretty similar, only a little lighter on the palette and the alcohol than the ciders I’ve tried.

Bottle. Clear golden color, a few strands of carbonation emanating up from the bottom. Thin wispy head. Flavor is big fresh apple notes, some golden delicious and also Macintosh. Dry to begin, sweet medium, dry finish. Flavor is so big and fresh that you can taste a bit of apple rind in there. Wow, this is like some exceptionally good apple juice. Well done. New Glarus does fruit beers like no other.

Pours a clear copper gold with light white head. Aroma is similar to cider with the sweet apples and light notes of cinnamon. Flavor is sweet and tart apple with brown sugar. Medium body with quite a bit of carbonation. Very well done beer.

12 ounce bottle brought to me from Wisconsin by a friend. Thanks Jenny! Pours a clear light orange color with a medium head. Good head retention that does not leave much lacing. Aroma is strong, tart apple cider. Subtle graininess is there if you look for it, but the apples do dominate. Flavor is apple cider with a tart champagne like finish and some spices. Full bodied and very smooth with lively carbonation. This is very nice.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear, light brown color. Slight off-white head, dissipates quickly. Aroma is mainly sweet apple, with a hint of malt as well. Flavor is very cidery, sweet apples again, with a malt finish. Hints of cinnamon at the end as well. Palate feels effervescent, very lively on the tongue, and a bit syrupy. Overall this is an excellent fruit beer, a great brew for my 100th also!
