Could this one replace my New Glarus all time fav. of Belgian Red? They are so close, and so unique in their style.
New Glarus has once again top the quality with this ale.
Pours copper with thin white head.
Aroma is loaded with the bubbly nose of apple juice, close enough to remind me of an excellent cider. New Glarus is not joking around with the fruits, and they are using some fine apples.
Taste is loaded with apples and very faint malts. Not only do we get some fine apple taste, there is also a very light bitter feel of the apple skin. The whole is mixed with a very light bubbly finish. HonkeyBra (1332), Lemont, Illinois, USA

Tastes a lot like fresh, sparkling apple cider, with a bit of malt and bitterness in the finish. Pretty awesome. fishingnet (1045), Brandon, Florida, USA

Pours a pale copper with a small white head. Aroma is strait up Red Delicious, not much else but it smells like fresh pressed red apples. Taste is the same as aroma with a hint of sweet malt in the finish. Medium mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness. Very good. Beerlando (2319), Orlando, Florida, USA

This clear bodied brew is copper in color, crowned with a fluffy pillow of smooth, beige colored foam. A soapy wash of sugary lace dries to minimal, jagged lines and spots. The aroma is simple, but inviting. Freshly pressed red apple juice dominates, with subtle hints of soft oak an vanilla falling in line. Sweet Macintosh apple flavors pair well with mild caramel and just a dash of spicy cinnamon, while a hint of green apple tartness comes through on the finish. Just shy of medium bodied, there is ample cidery sweetness to the mouthfeel, with a sharp tingle of active micro-bubbles. Save for the frothy head, there is probably no way I could distinguish this from a cider. This pours like apple juice, golden, slightly fizzy, head is nowhere. Aroma of apple juice, some apple skins, a little spice. Taste is apple cider all the way with some cinnamon, caramel and spiciness. Sweet, a little tart in the mouthfeel, low carb with some prickly bubbles, a little dryness. Excellent. Hard to believe there is malt in there, very like cider. BustedFlat (553), Edina, Minnesota, USA

Very sweet. Maybe a hint of malt. Does not taste much like beer, but definitely a nice change of pace. Once again New Glarus comes up with an interesting and tasty fruit beer.

Clear, new-copper color with a small disc of bubbles. Aroma of crisp, sweet-sour green apple. Flavor is the same with the addition of light toffee and faint nutshell at the finish. Light-medium body is fizzy and tingly.
