Commercial Description:
Apple Ale sings with the fresh crisp taste of Wisconsin Apples. Our brewmaster begins with a brown ale base employing Wisconsin farmed wheat and a blend of Cortland, MacIntosh and Jonathan apples. Our apple growing friends squeeze them especially for this brew. Expect this ale to pour a beautiful copper color. The fresh bouquet of Apple will rise to meet you even before the glass touches your lips.

Crushed with Jakebra. Kinda like the middle of those suckers with the caramel without the caramel, and it’s beer instead of candy, which makes it excellent. A great fruit beer.

Pours an amber color with a medium off-white bubbly head. Aroma is apple cider, and syrupy malts. I had high expectations for the taste......I was expecting it to be very carbonated, bright, and fruity. Based on that, I was a bit disappointed. The mouthfeel is flat and slightly syrupy. The combination of apples leaves a rather flat apple taste. Still very good........but it is a lot better in my head.

Bottle. Pours a nice golden amber color with a medium off white head. Aroma of apple cider, malt and light yeast. Taste is sweet apple cider with only a hint of malt. No alcohol was detected at all. Smooth and sweet. It is actually a little hard to tell that it is a beer. A small amount of tartness in the finish. A very different type of fruit beer.

Pours out like a crisp apple cider color with thin bubbly head. Aroma is intense apple cider aroma with floral bouquet. Taste is like apple sauce and apple pie turned into carbonated liquid. The mouthfeel is great, it’s not to cloying or imbalanced. Good stuff.

bottle courtesy of Brady (thanks): Pours like apple juice it has that distinct cloudiness that you get with apple juice. Aroma is like apple juice infused with yeast. Taste is sweet apples almost like an apple cider. I almost believe this could be good warmed up. New Glarus really knows how to do the fruit beers. This beer tows the line of beer and apple cider. You can still get a yeasty, alcohol (very light), dry finish. It’s like apple juce with a little extra. Good.

11 year old 750ml bottle shared at a tasting. Thanks!
Obviously not the same beer it was, but poured an apple juice color with no head. Smell is apple juice with some syrupy sweetness. Taste is dull and likely oxidized, but very apple like. A lot like the belgian red, but with apples instead. Some tartness and almost no carbonation. Pretty much just apple juice, but I would still like to try this one fresh when it is re-released.

Bottle. Looks a little bit like cider. Smells like fresh apples. Very sweet, it tastes like apple juice. Went down quick, not much carbonation at all. Not bad, different.

Poured a dark golden amber color with a nice white head that retained quite well. Smell is like smelling a crisp apple. Nice and tart, perhaps like smelling apple juice with slightly overripe apples; almost like stepping into an apple orchard. Taste is like biting into a mixture of different apples and moves into the taste of the apple skins, without the astringent tastes of actually biting apple skins. Light-medium carbonation, lighter side of medium bodied with a crisp, dry finish. Excellent drinkability, I’d be drinking plenty of this if it were still produced. This bottle was three years old and still held up remarkabley well, I can only imagine it was more powerful when it was fresh.
