Commercial Description:
Apple Ale sings with the fresh crisp taste of Wisconsin Apples. Our brewmaster begins with a brown ale base employing Wisconsin farmed wheat and a blend of Cortland, MacIntosh and Jonathan apples. Our apple growing friends squeeze them especially for this brew. Expect this ale to pour a beautiful copper color. The fresh bouquet of Apple will rise to meet you even before the glass touches your lips.

Pours a hazy copper-peach color, with light carbonation. you see a little red tinit if you hold it up to the light. There is no head, really, just a thin ring of foam. Minimal lacing. Nice candied apple aroma, sweet and spicy. As it warms, the aroma has more apple and less spice, smelling somehting like a fresh, unpasteurized cider. The taste is like apple pie in a glass. Seriously, it tastes like baked apples and pie spice. It is honey sweet up front with a bit of tart apple in the finish. Is it more like an ale or a cider? I’m not sure. Medium to full body, very light carbonation. This would be a wonderful dessert drink. I wonder how it would tasted warmed? I finally found a good apple beer - make that a great apple beer.

Bottle from RooftopRogue, thanks Rob. I’ve been wanting to get my hands on a bottle of this for a while and it was worth the wait. Smells like apple cider, tastes like apple cider but with just enough malt to distinguish itself as a beer. Crisp, sweet finish. Another excellent fruit beer from NG.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of rooftoprogue and shared with illini08. looks and smells like apple cider. not sure how long its been since this was bottled, but even with the age and I’m sure a more subdued flavor than when it was fresh, this was delicious. New Glarus knows fruit beer!

Bottle shared by sliffy courtesy of ofortuna. Aroma of maltiness and some apple sweetness with some cider and cinnamon notes. Very sweet apple tasting beer that had the slightest bitterness in it. Very crisp apple flavor. I wish they would make this again because this beer is awesome.

Bottle shared by sliffy, thanks! Pours orange/brown with a short, quick white head. Aroma of apples, cinnamon, and a bit of nutmeg. Flavor of apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, a bit of sweet malt. Fruity and sweet with a little spiciness and a sweet finish. I’m really suprised to how well this one held up, everything seemed in its right place. Makes me glad I got to try it and it’s a shame they don’t brew this anymore.

Thanks badgerben. Pours murky brown with small white head that doesn’t last. This was an apple cider beer just a crazy ass concept pulled off the right way. Everything you get in an apple cider is there, the aroma is pretty weak compared to the flavor, and you get some oak flavor in there also from the fermenter I would think? The apples, the sugary sweetness, some cinnamon, the only thing to say is apple cider with alcohol, just awesome.

Big thanks to my secret santa for this one: Copper color with a tiny off white head. Aroma, apples, some cinnamon, and caramel. Flavor, apples and more apples, some brown sugar and spices to it. Had an applesauce aftertaste to it, but was really nice. Really glad I got to try this one.

12oz bottle via trade with goldtwins! - Pours brown with not much head to speak of. Aromas of sweet caramel malts blended with apple cider. Flavor is much like apple cider. Somewhat tart yet smooth and easy to drink. A touch of brown sugar there too. Low carbonation and medium body with a somewhat sweet lingering finish..
